Re: Who's signed for next season
Agree, would much prefer to retain Kim over bringing Holland back.
Kruse would be brilliant, but there's no way we could possibly jag him ahead of the Sydneys and Melbournes . He's a Socceroo and I imagine he'll be looking at the sort of move that keeps him at the top of the tree anyway

All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

Re: Who's signed for next season
Holland is a good player, but Amor could not or chose not to organise the team to get Isaias and Holland to play well together. Maybe a new coach would do so but I am not sure it is worth the risk of it not working again so do not want him back.
Kruse needs to play lots, he is too good for the A-league if he can get lots of game time, it would be a massive coup to sign him but I just cannot see it happening.

Re: RE: Re: Who's signed for next season
I can. He started to show some class as the games went on. He was clearly just getting up to speed along with Guardiola and the other newbies. If AU signed him early in the pre-season I think he'd bring more to the table. We've done the Holland experiment already and can't see him doing anything more with us if given another chance. We have McGree and O'Doherty as better midfield options now.
As for Kruse… idk
As for Kruse. I put him in the same category as Burns or Troisi. I think he'd come back to the HAL and do well.

I would rather Ansell to Regan and Warland, but we need an experienced quality CB to lead the defence, Ansell is not that player. Baro could be that player. Perhaps we should try to sign Spiranovic.Would anyone take Nick Ansell or Alan Baro?

Galekovic player/coach would be cool.
Although he's good enough to play number 1 in the HAL somewhere.

Re: Who's signed for next season
Holland was played out of position. He got better, but we were needing an instant return from a player of his ilk.
I'm iffy on Kruse. He's severely injury prone and I have no idea how he continually makes national team squads. Not his fault; it's the injuries that have ruined him.
As for CBs, we need one capable of playing our possession style game under pressure. Regan is not capable of this because he is not this kind of player. Elsey is able, and with a little more experience, Warland will be able to as well. Spiranovic would be a good choice.

Pass on both.
Holland doesn't fit in a team with Isa.
Kruse will miss half a season with injuries and Socceroos games.

Re: Who's signed for next season
On Kruse, it was only just over a year ago Kruse had a match against Jordan for the Socceroos where he produced three assists. And then last October he provided an assist with a cross to Juric for the second goal in the 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia, the last goal the Socceroos have scored from open play. I can understand why he has been kept in the squad because he still been showing moments of quality in among the dross. I don't understand him starting the recent game against Iraq.Holland was played out of position. He got better, but we were needing an instant return from a player of his ilk.

Now he has been released from his club in China I don't see how he can make the next squad despite his quality when playing regularly. Perhaps coming back to the A-league and starring is the best thing he can do as far as making an impact for the Socceroos but perhaps he will want another try at Europe. His injury history is a worry and he always seems fragile when he plays, not strong over the ball at all.
Having said all of that I would be very happy to see the club sign him as a marquee, he can play on the wing or as a second striker if the new coach wants to go with a different formation with only wing backs and two up front.

Re: Who's signed for next season
I feel pretty confident Holland used us as a pre season to get his move to China and build his fitness while getting paid very well. I doubt he wanted to adapt his role. I know it's a professional industry and a job is a job but I wouldn't want him back on the coin he demands.

Re: Who's signed for next season
Gamiero for me is one of those nothing players, I don't actually really know who he is, how he plays or even what he looks like even though he's been around for years ...
might be a sign of my waning commitment to watching football though lol

Re: Who's signed for next season
I'd take Baro for sure.
He didn't want to live in Melbourne as its a pretty crappy place to live so he refused another contract.
I'm sure he'd jump at a move to Adelaide, would be a great pickup.
