It was a good game and a great relief for the Austrians.
The team's goal was to reach the first knock out round which had not been done by an Austrian national team since the 1954 WC in Switzerland where they finished 3rd.
Now they face Italy at Wembley on Saturday.
Every thing from now is a bonus.

As much as I enjoy watching England lose at anything I do feel for the side. I think they are certainly on the right path.
But Italy certainly are worthy winners! There are some really strong looking nations leading in to next year's World Cup should that go ahead!

I think Southgate was too conservative in the way he set up his team for the final.
It looked to me that plan A was to absorb the Italian pressure, hit them on the counter and then park the bus.

I'm happy Italy won in the end, especially for my Italian mates in Adelaide.

Sounds like they thought they'd beat Italy at their own game!

So sad to see the fall out from the England fans following the loss. Both online with the hate towards the penalty missers and the violence outside the ground. People were standing outside the gate where Italian fans were exiting to lay into them. Apparently a child was punched in the face.
