That really sticks in the throat, doesn't it? Izzo taking the filth's cash .... I know that this is a business and he has to look after himself, but to even pull on a filth shirt must make him puke inside.
Just like seeing Konsta in a filth shirt last night, coming on against Sadney in the swimming pool that was masquerading as a pitch at the rebuilt Allianz Stadium. It just did not look right.

To be honest I'd rather Gauci and Delianov over Izzo anyway.

Tough watching Yengi absolutely tear shreds off Victory.
80% of first half attacks have gone through him. Skinning Broxy alive.
Biggest off season loss for us I reckon.
Smith also seems to have improved a lot since leaving us. He looks quality coming off the bench tonight.

Yes it was .... but it's still wonderful to see the filth lose - and at home.
Someone urinated in Yengi's ear late last season that he needed to be at a 'big' club to be noticed, so that he can then go overseas. (CV very much wanted to keep him). I think we all know how that will work out.

Clough out for 2-3 months. Pinged his quad at training.

Far out. That's really disappointing. I mentioned in preseason that I thought he would be pivotal as we have no other creative mids. We'll definitely sign an injury replacement, don't worry guys.Clough out for 2-3 months. Pinged his quad at training.
Re: Who's signed for next season
Squad right now compared to last year is shite.
Out
Bernado (injured)
Clough (injured)
Toure
Yengi
Konst
In
Halloran
2x Defenders
Hard to see us making finals.

Ibusuki is a good in for that list but it's still not enough, our senior players are almost eligible for seniors cards.

Cavallo has an enlarged spleen and is seemingly out indefinitely

Re: Who's signed for next season
To be fair, we have been following AU for long enough to know the squads are usually thin and we usually cop endless injuries.
Nothing has changed.
We also know any injury replacement will be kids.
All in all, squad lacks quality and depth but then you add all the outs and injuries and it’s hard to see us doing much more than competing with the roar, glory types as opposed to the city, bulls, sfc types.
Unfortunately kosminas pre season statements ring hollow as the stated goals are not matched by the reality when the squad is predominantly over 35s and u18s, with the rest being injury prone it seems.
At least we have Ansell….. don’t we???

Re: Who's signed for next season
My fear is that our top two players (Goodwin and Halloran) are going to get frustrated by the quality of their teammates. They are both talented players approaching their final years. Surely they’d want to go out with a bang and not a whimper. Our recruitment has been lazy this season. CV has put loyalty first whereas other coaches have taken risks with unknown imports. We’ll see who’s made the right decision pretty quickly. It’s no use having a good forward line with a pretty average midfield and defence.
Re: Who's signed for next season
By all accounts Goody's groin will hold out til the World Cup then he'll get the surgery he needs and be out for the season.
I'm not surprised we haven't signed an import. We have one of, if not the leanest budgets in the entire league.
Problem is this year we've had no elite juniors setup up. They all look a good few years away and we weren't able to retain the likes of Yengi, Toure for that extra season whilst they developed.
Might get to see Nestory start a few more games at least. And I'd love to see Yull get more minutes when he's back from injury. If Chelsea want him he must be better than D'Arrigo.

Re: Who's signed for next season
Don't know about you guys but I love having a 4 month off-season, signing nobody*, losing bunch of promising youngsters, then finding out key players are going to be injured for 3 months on top of that. can't get enough of it.
*The 2 Bens are good signings, obv, but they are both ex- AU players anyway

All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.
