Yeah I agree. Can't fault him here. He's asking for 100%, hoping for 50% but expects 20% of what he's asking.Griffin is probably just shooting for the stars with trying to get a new stadium in the CBD and hoping the club can at least get an upgrade and or ownership of Hindmarsh.
I mean transport is pretty good compared with what the eggball clubs had with West Lakes with both Tram and Train really close. Short commute from the CBD.

Re: New rectangular stadium in Adelaide?
This is my dream stadium for AU BTW.
Sapporo Dome.
Built next to Adelaide Oval. With a retractable pitch so both Hindmarsh and The Entertainment centre can be re-purposed and major concerts could be held there the day before or after a football game. This is the definition of a multi-purpose stadium.
Obviously baseball might not demand quite the crowd this would hold but anything is possible with a stadium like this really. The concrete floor allows anything to be held there really. Concerts, trade events, monster trucks, basketball, rugby. The possibilities are endless really.

Concept design for new Townsville stadium. Roof to mimic Pandanus tree.
Love it.

Plus one. Great design. Great city. Perfect for football and League. 25000 - ideal. Hope it's a goer.

Yet another reason they should bring back NQ Fury. One of FFA's biggest mistakes was cutting them loose.

HAL clubs in areas that already have NRL sides makes too much sense.Yet another reason they should bring back NQ Fury. One of FFA's biggest mistakes was cutting them loose.
The new Parramatta stadium IMO highlights what is possible if HAL and NRL clubs bring 12 months of business to a stadium.
I have no interest in NRL but I'd be so happy to see more games played in Adelaide. It's a bit disappointing to see the upcoming game being played at AO. I think the AEC needs to lift their game in this aspect and get more attractions during the winter.

Re: New rectangular stadium in Adelaide?
Is that a requirement? I don't think so - because official NRL games have been played there in the past. Would be disappointing to move the crowd further back from the pitch.

Re: New rectangular stadium in Adelaide?
It might be a more recent requirement. I think it's because of the in-goal area (space between the try line/posts and the seats.

Re: New rectangular stadium in Adelaide?
It would be interesting to hear if that's definitely a requirement. I know the RL World Cup final was played at Old Trafford not long ago and the try area was so short that players were sliding off the pitch and down the slight hill the stadium has.
Hopefully the turf at AO gets ripped to crap and the AFL club playing there next has a big tanty about it. NRL at Hindmarsh just seems like such a no-brainer to me as long as the club is willing to move games here.

Possibly belongs here.

He's got a point but has made it poorly (ironic for a lawyer). If we had a city stadium we'd probably get an increase in crowds much like the AFL sides of 10-25%.

I agree with him. I'm a firm believer that if Hindmarsh held 20k-25k we'd see a jump in attendances.Possibly belongs here.

I do find it frustrating reading that Port Adelaide get a $350k tax payer fund to play one pointless game in front a 10k people in China. Half of which are probably Australians anyway.
ACL games gain significantly more attention in Asia yet AU are lucky to get a sponsorship deal out of the Government. Imagine if AU got $350k per game they play in Asia! They could sign someone like Ibrahimovic for the ACL!

More complaints from Griffin, feels as though this is all coming to a head. I can see us playing out of Norwood oval or some other unfit for purpose arena before it is resolved.
