Bundesliga ---- 2014/2015

Postby sevengoals Mon Sep 01, 2014 6:54 pm

Best run league in Europe.

After two games Bayer 04 Leverkusen, are top with newly promoted SC Paderborn 07 second.

Last years champions Bayern are sitting equal 5th.

I think it will not be so easy for Munich this season.

Imo most entertaining league there is!!

Wish i could have a team to support to make it interesting, i just cant fake the whole "my team " thing

We generally support the team playing against Bayern. :D

There is no need to fake anything.
As you said it's an exciting league, just sit back and enjoy the whole thing.

Raphael Honigstein is the man with a great weekly Bundesliga roundup at the Guardian.

I think that's a great idea with the "coalface tunnel entrance"

Maybe Adelaide United should think about making a "PissAnt's nest tunnel" for the players to walk through. :D

And a preview of the season

I'm thinking of getting BeIN sports on the cable as they show the Bundesliga. It's a great competition indeed and I love seeing the Yellow Wall in action.

A game in Germany I'd love to attend is St Pauli. There are St Pauli supporters clubs in many developing nations due to the number of socially minded Germans working in them. As a result I have a few mates who are keen St Pauli fans. Any club that is alternative enough to play in poo brown has my vote :)

I had the pleasure of watching St Pauli fans create an amazing atmosphere when they played away against FSV Frankfurt ( Leckie and Ruka played )

Their noise and passion was impressive, but what really raised an eyebrow for me was that despite me wearing Frankfurt gear on more then a few occasions their fans came up to us for a chat in the central station even saw to it we had a fresh bottle of booze in our hand ( chilli schnapps OMFG !!).

One guy even came up to me and asked to mind his bag while he bought some lunch, I was clearly there for FSV frankfurt yet treated amazingly well by St Pauli fans..... for the record we did not meet one Frankfurt fan LOL.

Definetly a unique club with unique fans!

If they were first division id definitely follow them with interest, when im in Germany next id love to catch them at home in Hamburg

Kagawa makes an instant impact on his return to Dortmund scoring one and setting up a second in a 3-1 win against Freiburg

SC Paderborn top of the league.

Their stadium, the Benteler-Arena (capacity 15,000) is tiny. They have only one training pitch and have to get changed in the caretaker’s adjoining flat. There is no scouting network, no underfloor heating. Some locals have taken SC to court over evening kick-offs and won: football is officially verboten after 10pm. Last season’s budget was a less than princely €6.2m. Not per player – in total.

Another fine weekend wrap up from Raphael Honigstein,
If you like your symbolism heavy and your narrative monochrome, second-placed TSG’s resistance against the Red Machine from Säbener Strasse fits with the troubling idea that the big, storied clubs are either too slow or too stupid to keep up with Bayern.
