Playing without Heart
Some players there need a long, hard look at themselves.
As far as I'm concerned I would much prefer players of the ilk of Fyfe, Cornthwaite and Reid ahead of the likes of Mullen, McKain and Levchenko if they are going to play with this lack of heart.
Cassio has been abysmal this season, while I have seen nothing in Dilevski and Slory that warrants the hype they have accrued.
------------Galekovic-------------
Watson-----Boogaard---Susak---Cassio
----------Caravella---Malik-----
-----------------Vidosic-------------
------Djite----Van Dijk--Ramsay----

Defintely agree with Boogard coming into the heart of defence...id try something different and go with Usucar and Watson in the centre of midfield...
Anyone know whats with Barbiero?

Letting our captain walk. Our biggest mistake.

We are really feeling the loss of Dodd. McKain is not captain-worthy.

Re: Playing without Heart
that isn't Adelaide United out there this season, that is Rini Coolen's XI. Eugene, Cassio and maybe Serg are the only players playing for our badge - everyone else is just playing for the sake of a job. i know our club is in an evolving stage, but there seems to be no heart, no passion and no love for Adelaide United coming from our current squad - our form says it all. if they truly cared about sporting the shirt, they'd dig deep and at least farken try.
i guess that's what happens when 90% of the squad are first season players.

Re: Playing without Heart
My $0.02.
Slory = useless
McKain = useless
Susak was useless when he was with us the first time, and must have been propped up by Brisbane when he was there. Anyway he's still useless.
Dilevski - he has something IMHO, but needs to pick up his game pronto.
Mullen - has definitely looked shite this season. Puts his hands up like nothing is his fault even when it clearly was.
Cassio has been below par but he has been such a good player for the club its hard to say anything bad against him. Plus he's propping up a shit defense right now.
Levchecnko - I think its too early to judge; perhaps a bit slow, but he's an old guy like me.
Vidosic - a good pick up; too bad he has come into a team like this.
Caravella - has been on and off, but against Melbourne he was good. He has it in him so my jury is still out on him.
Ramsey - Hasn't had enough of a chance, but has played well enough when he has.
Van Dijk - Just hasn't had the service this year. He's still a quality player.
Djite - haven't really seen him yet this season, but I am sure he's worth the pay packet.
So let's bring in Watson, Barbiero and anyone else that feels like a game from the youth team, or the Tea Tree Gully primary school team. We seriously need to fix defense and midfield.
Arrrrghhhh!

Re: Playing without Heart
This is the end result of adhering to subjective "It's not just whether you win, but how you win" crap that gets thrown around by those with more money than sense. The ugliest play around.
Fortunately the board seem to have an eye for the bottom line and will rectify their eagerness to sign or dismiss certain staff in short order I suspect.

Re: Playing without Heart
Tonight we saw a real football team, The jaffas are fit, make the best of their skills , can at least pass the ball and attack at all costs.
This result has been coming since round 1. Both Perth and Sydney should have done us by big scores (are MV that bad?) We are one dimensional, unfit, players with poor skills (or other issues??) and tactically inept.
Example: Eugenes kick out, everytime are aimed at SVD, who is usually heavily marked, has his back to goal and has no one near to support if he does win the ball in the air no one to follow up. We never change or try anything different.
The Heart will be analysing the videos and already have aplan to beat us. And even with big changes in the starting squad next week I fear only Hearts crapulence infront of goal can save us from another towelling.
PS: I made comments during the sale AU last year that part of the deal between the consortium and the FFA was that one of the clauses in the deal was that AU were not to be allowed to be successful and not challenge any of the FFA's favourites. Looks like I told you so.

Here is a unique suggestion! Lets play our players in their preferred positions!

This is what shits me more then 7-1, experts after the fact.
Birra, usucar, ramsay, malik should all be hoping for a start next week though.
Slory, delevski, mullen definetly need a kick up the arse,

Re: Playing without Heart
What's really worrying is how quickly the team lost all fight after going UP 1-0.. It's like as soon as they conceded the first penalty they thought, 'right, that's it, we're boned'... to be fair they were playing the best side Australia's ever seen, at the top of their game, but FFS it should be Adelaide setting the standard in the league.. what with our cerebral and credentialled European coach, and our star-studded lineup...
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.
