Road to the final/Live Site - Quarters, Semis, Final/Finals-
After topping Group C we find ourselves up against the defending champions Iraq who haven't been overly impressive thus far. Should we get past them we face either uzbekistan or jordan. Given that the other side of the draw contains the host nation Qatar, Japan, Iran and Korea Republic it seems we have been dealt a favourable hand. If we play to our potential surely we are looking at our first appearance in the Asian cup final!
We didn't underestimate them. They were just a lot better than we thought. - Sir Bobby Robson

I missed the game (grr) because I was without power for a week, but from what I read weren't we actually really good against Korea Republic?

was our best match playwise. We underperformed against them but we REALLY lowered our standard of play against India and Bahrain. Just gotta hope the players pick it up a bit coz we all know they can play a lot better than this.

Not really. It was more that they weren't at their best against us.I missed the game (grr) because I was without power for a week, but from what I read weren't we actually really good against Korea Republic?
Live Site - Quarters, Semis, Final
Any places that anyone knows about that will have the Socceroos games live at a public place so as to create a bit of an atmosphere? Cause there should be!!

Not heard of any, Australia main stream has not yet woken up to the fact that Asia is a different place to Oceania (in fact a lot of football fans still seem to think we should be winning games 31-0...)

Wasn't trying to play up our performances throughout the group stage but i do feel that we have more room for improvement than IraqMeanwhile, we've been absolutely brilliant. After topping Group C we find ourselves up against the defending champions Iraq who haven't been overly impressive thus far.

How can they be "football fans" when they think like that? Not heard of any, Australia main stream has not yet woken up to the fact that Asia is a different place to Oceania (in fact a lot of football fans still seem to think we should be winning games 31-0...)
Don't you need to inform yourself so you can call yourself a "fan"?

Finals
So in case you live under a rock. We are through to the semis, playing the Uzbeks. Japan and Korea are the other fixture.
Wasted opportunities seems to be the biggest constant so far, defence has been reasonably solid and midfield is midfield.
Hope to see a Japan Australia final, a bit of revenge and bragging rights would be nice.

The game would have been over quicker if Jedi hadn't decided that he needed to do Iraqs defending for them. Seriously, when the ball is going in you do not need to put your head on it!

Im expecting alot from the uzbeks, i think they are highly underated.
Im not sure how they have such a strong league at home but are never talked of in the same breath as aus, japan , sth korea etc when it comes to national teams
Hopefullu we and japan go through, it will help set up a great marquee rivalry in thr confederation tnat is starting to gain some history

Hated seeing Jedi attempt to take the venom off of Sasa's shot just so he could go for the goal himself (and completely fuck it up)The game would have been over quicker if Jedi hadn't decided that he needed to do Iraqs defending for them.
