Why would they want to travel to the US?

It's been quite complicated as Iraq have been unable to get out of the country to make it to their intercontinental play-off (GA is stuck in Dubai from what I can tell, as are some of his players).

Hence it may be Iraq that takes Iran's place (final decision from the Iranian Football Federation yet to come), however FIFA has discretion in the matter.

I've seen headlines around FIFA not being willing to shift Iran games to Mexico. Surely that isn't an impossible task? Maybe this requires some goodwill from another nation to offer to switch?

Complicated as fans would have purchased flights, hotels etc.

Besides, it may be in Iran's political interest to play in the USA.

Surely with a WORLD cup FIFA would have some plan in place for this scenario when a country goes to war with another?
