Discipline has been absent too often this season , it’s a real problem now.
Reds look dangerous still, who knows what’s ahead in 2nd half

Great result.
Ansell had a good game.
For all their talent, Macarthur are rubbish.

Gauci MOTM for mine, if I were a club like Brescia I'd be on the phone, he must be a $1m player now.

Now if we can just get a few players back from injury and suspension and stop them getting sent off or reinjured we may, may, just be able to challenge for top 2.
Ahh who am I kidding that will never happen.

Central defence who haven’t played in forever, central midfield who are cobbled together, down to 10 men … we’ll done to grind out the win … but oh my goodness, how good was Gauci!!!

It was a good, hard, solid win .... nothing flashy, nothing that could really be called stylish, but a 'down in the trenches' scrap. I had Clough down as the player of the match, until Gauci started pulling off those saves. So my 3 - 2 - 1 were Gauci - Clough - Goody.
It's generally not a good day (or night) when your goalkeeper is the best on the park, but there we are. Gauci kept us in the match and secured us the 3 points that were initially set up by Clough. As i said last week, Clough has the second best foot skills in the side, after Goody. We need to keep him (Clough) fit and firing, because his best days are still ahead of him.
All those on this forum who have openly questioned Clough's place and his ability must be feeling chastened now.
The front line is now settled as Goody - Clough - Halloran - and they are finally getting some decent service, now that L d'A has started clattering into tackles and throwing his weight - such as it is - around. Maybe he reads WATR? With Clough dropping back regularly to help out, it almost looks like we have a midfield again. This should improve again next week, now that Isa's ban has been cut to two matches, from three. Maybe we are on the upswing for the midfield.
The backline is still patched together and makeshift, but it more or less worked - at least until Warland flew in, studs up, on Noone. If one of the cows had done to that one of our players, we would have screamed for a red card too. What an idiot, when he is fully aware of how thin our defender stocks are.
Overall, I gave us a C+. There are no new players coming in, so CV has to work with the emergency ward on the bench and the second or third choice midfielders and backs who are on the park. So be it - as long as they show the intent for the second half of the season that they showed last night, we might get something out of this season after all.

Settle down on Clough, sure he scored a scrappy goal and played pretty well in a pretty average team, but claiming he is this or that after 1-2 reasonable games is not much to go on in regards to him being an integral piece of the team.
His injury record alone would suggest caution as would the larger body of his work since At the reds.
It would be nice if he could do this consistently as the team is desperate for some playmaking and creativity.
Just think we are too thin in some key areas and our injury history is an ongoing detriment which will hurt as no one is coming in.
