Feel back in it. Definitely needed that before half time.
Always tough playing down against NPL level teams, just got to run over them in the 2nd half.

Very scrappy first half. Brisbane rightly punishing us as the sharper team.
Poor touches all around so harsh to point out individuals but Popa at the back and Blackwood in the middle have been struggling.
I've been disappointed with the central defensive pairing that was so promising last season. Glad we have Warland and Ansell to push them.
Lucky to get one back and we finally looked better after the goal.
Big team talk from Carl required.

I agree EdDog, I don't think Popobarr are our best pairing but I do appreciate their good run last season

Brisbane we’re pretty rubbish last year, but look really sharp with their movement and passing. Austin will make a big difference for them.
Too many of our passes were bouncing off players with a poor first touch (Blackwood, too many times to count). Very slow to recover from midfield and reposition defensively when they overload from midfield.

Ibusuki wins the balls back and gets a red.

At least Blackwood is on the pitch so we don't need to ring an immediate change.

You won't see many worse calls than that this season. Got the ball, didn't hit the man. Studs up so a free, at most a yellow.
Ruins the game that kind of refereeing.

The Newcastle game had me hoping we might see our midfield not be a completely dysfunctional mess. The City game and tonight have subsequently severely dampened those hopes.

Take off our 2 target men, Kitto starts putting in crosses to decent positions. Classic, we only cross well when there's no one to hit

Popa with a free but goes for goal rather than putting into the mixer. 1-2 Brisbane.
