Re: Josh Cavallo
Now can focus on his football. Good luck to the lad.
Re: Josh Cavallo
How heartwarming it must be to receive all the support from the global football community. So proud of him and the way the club has handled it.
Must be a huge weight off his shoulders and now he can just focus on doing what he loves, playing footy!
Big ups Joshy!

Re: Josh Cavallo
Amazing to read that he is the only professional player in the world currently playing who is openly gay.
Amazingly brave that he is open to coming out with this level of exposure.
Congrats to Josh, I hope this is a weight of his shoulders. I hope he is the first of many that now feel free enough to tell the world (or as many people as they feel) who they truly are.

Cool.
And already in May ...
https://www.theguardian.com/football/20 ... out-as-gayTwo referees have come out as gay in an attempt to change the culture of Scottish football. Craig Napier and Lloyd Wilson become the first openly gay participants in men’s Scottish football since Justin Fashanu, who played for Airdrie and then Hearts in 1993 and 1994, several years after announcing his sexuality.

I don't want to be that guy. I'm fully supportive of Josh and all he's done.
But mate, put your head down and nail a first XI spot at Adelaide United before even thinking about going to the world cup. The mind boggles.

I don't think Josh has anything to worry about No chance he will be getting picked in the WC squad.https://amp.marca.com/en/football/2022/ ... b45ef.html

Re: Josh Cavallo
Yikes, that was a cringey article, hopefully that's the journalist pushing the questions towards his idea of a interesting talking point rather than Josh way overestimating himself.

Geez, reckon his form was bang average this season. Would reckon he won’t need to worry about laws in Qatar while representing Australia pretty confidently.

Re: Josh Cavallo
Its funny the article only quotes Josh's answers and not the questions put to him specifically. I'd be pretty surprised if the questions weren't asked as a hypothetical. I'd be shocked if any player yet to cement their AL starting spot is getting their Qatar visa paperwork in order and I'm sure Josh knows where he sits in the pecking order.
Pretty dodgy article if you ask me.
Articles like this are the reason why people of public interest barely say anything in interviews anymore. Its so easy to take what people say and blow it up.
The quote from Hasser Al Khater is just taken from an article that was written late last year.

Re: Josh Cavallo
Ferdinand, who won 81 caps for England and played in two World Cups, has spent the last few years immersed in making a trilogy of films. Two documentaries about racism and sexuality consider how to overcome the bigotry that scars football while the third explores the consequences for mental health in a game which Ferdinand believes has reached a tipping point.
As part of that education process Ferdinand meets gay footballers at grassroots level, including players for Stonewall FC, as well as Collin Martin, in America, and Josh Cavallo in Australia. Alongside Jake Daniels, the teenager on Blackpool’s books, Martin and Cavallo are among the very few openly gay professionals currently playing in men’s football.
