Season’s finished?
With SA closing it’s borders this week the A League can’t continue for the Reds. No more travel for non-essential needs.

Seems like it. Perth have refused to relocate to the east as well, so I think it's stuffed.

Effectively. I imagine they'll continue to play the games they can on the East Coast until it all locks-up (perhaps another week or two).
My concept of getting all the teams in one regional locale for three weeks or so of solid fixtures had merit, Too late now.
On the bright side, my Liverpool mates are having kittens

I think that's what NRL are (possibly) planning .

Not worth it imo. Shut it down, let the players be with their families.
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

Re: Season’s finished?
There must be some kind of clause preventing FFA from ending the season where Foxtel would not have to pay.
Its not a good look for the league that its still lingering , it should have been called off weeks ago. However I get the feeling they need the government to shut them down so as not to break contractual agreements and bankrupt the league.
Only speculation though

I do know that the government moving all countries to a Level 4 travel designation buggered the insurance for a lot of us working in developing nations, ironically many on DFAT contracts.

Asian Champions League requires qualifying leagues to have at least a 25 game season and a domestic Cup competition.

I think we can safely say those requirements will be turfed for the 2021 ACL.Asian Champions League requires qualifying leagues to have at least a 25 game season and a domestic Cup competition.

Re: Season’s finished?
I don't know what to make of this.
The original article seems to have first appeared in the Daily Telegraph and then Fox sports picked it up ...
I can not access the original article because it's behind a pay wall.
I have not seen any thing else about this "suggestion" but maybe someone else has.
Halving the salary cap and an 11 game season because they are worried about going up against the other codes?
Sounds a bit harebrained if you ask me.
By the way the piece first appeared on the News.com site on the 2nd of April.

Just wondering, is the Daily Telegraph round ball friendly or do they hate our wogball guts?

By the way the piece first appeared on the News.com site on the 2nd of April.
A-League club owners are reportedly discussing plans to revolutionise the competition for next season, in response to the worsening impacts of the coronavirus.
The proposals, which include halving the salary cap or reducing the season length to just 11 rounds and a shortened finals format, would represent the greatest changes to the competition structure since its founding in 2005.
According to The Daily Telegraph report, that could see the league run from January to April in order to avoid clashing with the AFL and NRL if those codes extend their currently suspended seasons to the end of the year.

Given it wouldn't even be remotely viable I'd suggest it is wishful thinking from a journo who doesn't like football and is in a funk regarding their favourite sport.
There is some panic around all professional sports regarding the straightened circumstances they find themselves in and the very real prospect of a significantly leaner future.
One advantage that football in Australia has is the fact the days of TV largess were already waning and some thinking undertaken as to how to move forward in the new environment. At least the clubs were looking into it, I am less sure about the FFA.

Re: Season’s finished?
Daily telegraph were the ones that named and shamed the fans that had been banned by the FFA from attending matches. There were names and some photos I think. The list included minors and some people who believed they were incorrectly banned with no right of appeal.
I wouldn't call them a friend of the round ball.
