Exciting game. Much improved by Blackwood. I think on balance it was the correct result too. Kurt Ams wasnt as bad as I was expecting either.

Very imoressive performance.
When the midfield triangle is McGree, Troisi, D'Arrigo we look like a top 3 or 4 side, hope they stay fit.
I was of the view Blackwood and Konstandopolous shouldn't play for us again, will be interesting to see if they can go on from here.
Good win but the football we played was the most pleasing.

blackwood had a great game. Good bounce back, now needs consistency.
How did VAR not give a red for that challenge.

I love the bit where he looks into the camera and tells Fox not to edit his comments

Really good effort from everyone last night. Elsey pulled a couple of clangers, but he has been out of the game for a long time, so some rustiness is to be expected; plus he saved a couple of clear tap in chances. Halloran had the best match he has ever played for us and MIleusnic was back to his mercurial best; it's a toss up as to which of them is the MotM; maybe a dead heat? Regardless, they both carved WU's backline to bits repeatedly. A fairer result would have been 4 - 1 our way, but hey, an away win is always welcome. We will be even better when they visit Hindmarsh; I'm not sure that they have any improvement left in them, given the amount of players who left WU in the past month.
I like the midfield pairing of McGree and Troisi more and more. They are learning each other's moves and thought processes and are well on the way to becoming the strongest midfield pairing in the league. I'd like to see more of Konstandopolous too; now that Vinnie Lia has gone, Konsta really deserves more game time. His goal in the last 10 minutes was a cracker; he's like a second McGree for us. To have one McGree in the side is wonderful; to have two of them ...
I like how Verbeek actively coaches during the game too. I know that some see it as unprofessional, but I like that he tells players when they are out of position and gives them a serve if they are still not tracking back (or forwards) quickly enough. At one stage in the last 15 minutes, Jako came over to the bench and gave GV a serve for the latter distracting Maria; now that takes guts! To criticise your own gaffer during the match is either foolhardy or genuine leadership; I reckon it's the latter.
WU really need a proper stadium though. The Whitten Oval is hopeless for the round ball game. I felt sorry for everyone who turned up and paid their hard earned to sit more than 40m from the action. What a difference to our wonderful Coopers.

Western United really need to organise usage of melb knights ground.
We are giving money and adverstising to an AFL club over an NPL club. Insane. And the ground is truly horrible.

Was it offered? I get the feeling Western were casting about for a site so may well have approached the Knights.Western United really need to organise usage of melb knights ground.

Absolutely mental that they can't find a rectangular stadium to play in. Knights ground would be perfect.Western United really need to organise usage of melb knights ground.

They are getting crowds in the NQ Fury / Gold Coast range but I think they will get a lot more leeway from FFA than those two.
Interested to see whether their vaunted new stadium will actually go ahead or if it's just smoke and mirrors...
I read somewhere that Knight's support of a stadium deal was contingent on Western U supporting div 2 and promotion/relegation, and they refused. Was it offered? I get the feeling Western were casting about for a site so may well have approached the Knights.
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

The highlights.
( That WU VIP corral behind the goals looked strange. )
