Blackwood looks better not playing as a striker, has neat skills, reads the play well and is now adding workrate.
Thomassen hasnt impressed me at all, I get Europeans can take time after coming from their winter but he doesnt seem to offer anything.
Ilso..... he does have the odd moment when you think he provides something, but that is supplemented by a fair bit of nothing.
I'd rather play AP however if he is leaving I can see the clubs reluctance to waste time.

Playing like a team missing halloran and a confident milusenic.
We were starting to click with those guys plus blackwood and goodwin. I think halloran was highly underated in that deep striking role.
I would happily take those guys back and trade thomassen and ilso if was possible.

Just finished watching the game, not a lot to like.
Why can we not cross a ball? It seems impossible that our crossing is this bad year after year. Kitto is absolutely fantastic at breaking down attacks, unfortunately they're our attacks. Thomassen has the touch of an excavator and is not playing well, Blackwood is playing better in his new role but is still frustrating to watch in attack and Ilso is a complete waste of a spot.
We should have gotten 13 points from the last 5 games (bottom 4 teams and MCY), instead we really struggled to get wins against Brisbane and CCM, got easily beaten by NRMAWSW and a dull nil all draw with a tired Newy.
I thought our defence held fairly well today, considering the makeshift CB and the injury to Galloway. We had a few chances, most of them were low quality chances but we couldn't even jag an ugly goal at the moment.
As said, it's a point and a clean sheet away from home. It's acceptable but we are not looking like a complete team at the moment.

That Goodwin run that ended with smashing the crossbar was the real difference in the end.
Jordy, Blackwood, Ilso all offered very little up top.
We looked a solid 6/10 much work to do against SFC away next week.

rather glad I was playing futsal at the time and didn't have to watch this snoozefest.
I can handle a 'rebuilding' season, so long as it looks like we're actually rebuilding. I feel like we're getting worse
shoulda given Anthony Costa or someone another crack rather than get another spud on loan from Europe (who, if he looks like coming good, will head back home at the end of the season anyway).
Oh well.

All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

I'm no great fan of Robbie Slater but his comments on Blackwood and Thommo's capacity to make decent runs were on the mark. Still, we screamed for a striker and they got us one.....we must live in hope.

Why oh why couldn't we get Fornaroli in the window. (Actually, I know the answer ... we don't have enough money.)

Yeh I don't think anyone can really complain that the club didn't sign fornaroli or Keogh. It had absolutely nothing to do with money.City werent willing to release himWhy oh why couldn't we get Fornaroli in the window. (Actually, I know the answer ... we don't have enough money.)
