Now that Reegz' departure has been confirmed I thought it was definitely worth making a little thread of appreciation. He has played his guts out every time he took to the pitch in a red shirt, has stood up for his teammates, and just strikes me as the sort of bloke who is worth his weight in gold around the club (plus, his Twitter game is solid).
Can't begrudge him leaving as Kurz clearly saw him mainly as a backup to Jakobsen & Elsey, hope he has all the success he deserves in Malaysia and I reckon we'll probably see him finish his career back in his home town.
Top work, so long & thanks for the memories.
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

No grudges from me. He gave everything he had when on the pitch, and every time he saw someone in an AUFC shirt in public he'd come say gday.

The atmosphere will be poorer for his departure.

Sad to see him go. Gave everything for the shirt and seemed like a good bloke (strong Twitter game too).

Wish him all the best for the future.

Much like Iacopo La Rocca an overtly aggressive out-of-towner with limited footballing abilities that never really sat well with me.

Still seems like a decent bloke off the pitch, good luck in Malaysia.

Whilst I don't like seeing players go mid season, especially when we don't have depth or a ready made replacement, I am glad that as a club we seem to be more understanding of the situation. It might be his last chance to get a decent contract overseas.

Can't fault his commitment, passion or teamwork and I think he has been a good signing, someone who has experience, is willing to earn his spot, knowing he is really the 3rd choice. I hope he does well back in Malaysia.

I liked his attack on the ball. A bloke to have in the trenches with you. Opposition forwards knew he was about.

I was sceptical when he arrived however he soon won me over. It's been a pleasure having him at the club and I wish him well in Malaysia.

100% agree, he has been rock solid on and off the pitch. Fantastic personality.

The fact he had to do that isnt really a great sign is it ??

Also, looks like we have turned our attentions to his replacement rather than a striker. Makes sense to me.

Why is it not a good sign?

If he had a $50k buy out clause to leave us mid season then why shouldnt the club ask for it?

If the club let him go for free then there would have been an outrage about that.

For all we know apart of his new deal was that he pays for his own transfer fee and recieves a higher wage or other benefits as a result.

I dont think its good or bad , it just is what it is.

No I mean why wouldnt the club buying him pay that, rather than him dipping into his own funds

Yeah odd the other club didnt pay it, but I would of been disappointed if we ignored a clause that was there.
