Re: Finals Scenario
Scenario set. Out in first elimination final.
Re: Finals Scenario
If we are 5th I think we are in Newcastle half of draw..it’s unlikely we will beat Victory but you never know...this is why the goal difference is so important...don’t want to play city or Sydney

Re: Finals Scenario
Knowing Adelaide, we may well cruise through the finals, thump Sydney for the toilet seat and be left dazed and confused.

Re: Finals Scenario
Seems everyone here is missing the point - WE HAVE NO STRIKER - a couple of weeks ago I was hoping Caveusevic was the answer, but now he's out big time. Blackwood and Diawara have hit the net so rarely they're nothing to hang your hat on. Absolonsson can really cross dangerously ( unlike Garriucio ).
I just hope the new owners sign an injury replacement who is a gun

Re: Finals Scenario
In a way at least now I feel if we progress through the first round of finals games then that’s a win. Because after yesterday’s game that flicker of hope has gone. Only up from here

Yes. An injury replacement for the injury replacement. We have been short on luck this year.Seems everyone here is missing the point - WE HAVE NO STRIKER - a couple of weeks ago I was hoping Caveusevic was the answer, but now he's out big time. Re: Finals Scenario
I'm not sure how ambitious the new owners are, but signing a new player for the last round of the season and probably 1 finals game is unlikely.
Hopefully Baba is all the better for his 45 mins and we see the player we all cheered on late last season again.

To be honest, I'm already looking forward to next season, (assuming of course that we keep Kurz, find a decent striker and keep our core group of players) but on the other hand I am seriously dreading the hell that is the ridiculously long close season of the A-league.
More games and more teams!

Yeah, at least we have the NPL to fall back on.To be honest, I'm already looking forward to next season, (assuming of course that we keep Kurz, find a decent striker and keep our core group of players) but on the other hand I am seriously dreading the hell that is the ridiculously long close season of the A-league.

Re: Finals Scenario
If im honest i havnt cared much about this season for various reasons but i lost what ever i had left after the ffa cup and VAR.
As a red blooded AUFC fan i actually dont really care what happens in the finals, obviously a grand final would be great but ill unlikely be bummed if we are eliminated.
Im just excited for next season, not for any expecting success with new wealthier owners but more so for some positive vibes to return to this club.
So im with sevengoals on this one

Re: Finals Scenario
I think this season has been a net positive regardless. But I think the finals will be very informative about Kurz as a manager.
There have been multiple games this year where I feel like he has essentially given up, or gone into the game with unnecessarily negative strategy. It will be interesting to see if such things are repeated in finals games.

Re: Finals Scenario
I feel there is a general understanding that this season has been in general better than last season.
So there is good reason to be positive going into next season.
I think the initial signs from the new owners are good, the club has a decent amount of current players re-signed with a couple of obvious names to add to that list. But has a good amount of room to look at who they can bring in. As I've mentioned countless times I really hope the new owners can find a high quality number 10 who can find players in the area to shoot.
For me anything positive that takes place is a bonus from now on. The club is back on an upward projection. I'm probably more interested in the individual performances from players who will be around next season for the rest of this season.

Re: Finals Scenario
So here we go.
Get thumped by 3 or more goals and we end up 6th and play city and i will have to avoid wearing a reds shirt in brissy for a while
Win or Draw and we play the tards. Only difference is if we win, brisbane make the 6

Re: Finals Scenario
Wouldn't mind losing by 3 goals or more if we get to play City. Such is the A-League final round.
