Ten applications but eight successful?Apparently we don't have an AFC club licence which is bizarre since all the other HAL clubs have one bar Wellington. There were 10 clubs based in Australia that applied for one. I don't know how to post tweets so here's the link.

Re: Adelaide United - General Issues and Discussion
I may have an answer. To fulfill the licensing requirement: "The license applicant club must have at least two (2) youth teams within the age range of U15 and U18."
Thank you, FFSA.

Re: Adelaide United - General Issues and Discussion
So got an email on the 1 May saying that they're going to do auto renewals on the 21 May (much earlier than last season) and that we need to let them know by the 18 May if we dont want to be auto renewed.
Only 8 days out and still no prices or options have been released so you'll have to make a decision pretty quickly whenever they do. I understand things are in a bit of a flux at the moment with new ownership but if that was really the case, they wouldn't be pushing through the renewals so fast.

I was going to renew my 8 match membership anyway (assuming there was a normal sort of increase).
As it turns out I'm happy with the price.

Yep prices are good and never wasn't going to renew. Still think they should be giving people more warning that 7 days before they start automatically debiting $250-1400 off their credit cards.I was going to renew my 8 match membership anyway (assuming there was a normal sort of increase).

Must admit, that did surprise me, but I didn't have any problem with it myself.Yep prices are good and never wasn't going to renew. Re: Adelaide United - General Issues and Discussion
So Aurelio as Football director and Nathan Kosmina continues as full time CEO.
Personally I was less than impressed with Ante so I'm happy to see him replaced although it would be tough to know how much of the lousy recruitment was down to him as opposed to the owners.
But happy to see the club turn a new page.

Re: Adelaide United - General Issues and Discussion
I didn't realise Aurelio came in in place of Ante? Now that you mention it I suppose that's the case but I never heard any mention of Kovacevic leaving or being sacked?
Personally I reckon that has been a massively tough gig and I think he's done well in it.
Who are the lousy recruits?

Ante hasn't been replaced, they're looking to expand the football department. They weren't clear in the press conference but it sounds like Aurelio will be his boss and might take on some of his responsibilities.I didn't realise Aurelio came in in place of Ante? Re: Adelaide United - General Issues and Discussion
I'd presumed and hoped it was something along those lines. I'm pleased as there's a lot of work to do for the both of them. I'm presuming they would have played together at Adelaide City back in the day and should have a good relationship.

Sorry that wasn't worded correct. I meant lousy recruiting. As in lack of recruiting Rarely was the squad complete and often injured players weren't replaced.I didn't realise Aurelio came in in place of Ante? Now that you mention it I suppose that's the case but I never heard any mention of Kovacevic leaving or being sacked?

I would also love to know the role Ante played in McGree's departure. That is still the dumbest piece of business I've seen not only at AU but in the HAL.

Re: Adelaide United - General Issues and Discussion
By more in-game entertainment I'm sure fans meant better football. Why not bring in celebration points for players while we're at it? Have a panel of judges rating the level of entertainment a player's over the top goal celebration is. If the game is tied after 90 mins the best celebration wins the game!Get ready to cringe guys and girls.

Re: Adelaide United - General Issues and Discussion
ADELAIDE United’s tight sister link with China’s Qingdao Red Lions is tipped to see about four Chinese players rewarded with a long stay in SA but none are expected to be A-League ready.
The Chinese can’t represent the Reds in the NPL due to an outdated Football Federation SA rule which states Adelaide United cannot field foreign players in its second team.
The ruling halted Barcelona legend Guillermo Amor’s teenage son Guille from playing NPL for the Reds.
He is now on the books of Barcelona.
Reds club officials have now contacted a few NPL clubs including Croydon Kings to see if they’re interested in signing Chinese players linked to Qingdao Red Lions.

The article doesn't say if they are youth players or senior players.
