Can we all calm down for a minute.

Please.

We try to allow a relatively open discussion and we also understand things can be said in the heat of the moment that we regret but can we please try to treat each other with respect.
We all support the same team and surely we all wish only the best for the club but sometimes we are crap and we loose badly.
And that hurts people in different ways.

Please understand I am not singling anyone out.

Good luck for the New Year everyone.

Dare I actually talk about football, but the individual errors like today I can cop, people make mistakes from time to time and shit happens.
They do and as long as the same player is not making the same mistake time after time we cannot expect them to be 100% perfect.
What frustrates me infinitely more is how laboured and uninspired our play is with the ball. Our central midfielders seem to exist solely to shuffle the ball out wide and stand around and watch while the wingers/full backs pump the ball into the box.
Certainly they do that a lot, far too often for my liking, it seems there is an instruction not to run past players. Adlung was disappointing in particular today, well below his best.
Be it Baba or Blackwood, the striker constantly seems to be well behind the play and never in position to really attack the penalty spot when crosses come in (lets just ignore the fact that we dont have anyone capable of crossing anywhere near on target). Never see midfielders making runs from deep into the box and very rarely see any passing combinations where players are moving into space to receive the ball back after they pass.
Konstandopoulos does try and make runs into the box at times, but it is not very effective. Adlung needs to do more going forward, he does less than even Isaias and he plays ahead of Isaias. He seemed to do more going forward earlier in the season.
Its all very turgid, and I have to assume its the way the coaching staff wants us to play because it continues each week. I appreciate we've had injuries and perhaps I'm expecting too much from the available personnel, but I'm not a huge fan of the current style.
It certainly seems the game plan is to get the ball out wide as often as possible but maybe that is because there is not many options going forward in the middle because we don't have a number 10 to create things centrally or a striker who can effectively hold up the ball. So play through the middle is unlikely to achieve anything. If we sign a number 10 very soon and Baba or another striker comes in then maybe we will see more balance to the play.

The idea that the reaction to an idea published on an internet forum is ‘unprovoked’ is an interesting one.

Cheers sevengoals. Can you ban me? Just for three months? Also, protect Ghost. That kid gets football.

I do agree that the lack of a decent number 10 probably affects things in that regard. One point I would differ is that from what I've seen of him, one thing Blackwood does decently is hold the ball up with his back to goal and lay it off to the supporting midfielders (earlier in the season at least, despite the goals the last few weeks I feel like his general play has gone off the boil a bit over the last few weeks).

We definitely need a bit of variety in our attack, as things stand we have to be so easy to set up against for an opposition because everything is so predictable.

Three months would mean you miss out on United's barnstorming late run into the Grand Final and all the Jamborees that would entail...

Would a day or two do?

Boy oh boy wowee.

Less said about that game the better.

It's clear we all care about this club but express it differently.

See you all in 2018 where we can get back to winning ways.

we really needed to capatilise on the home games amd decent crowds and we always lose at that point. Feel bad for the owners. Any real chance of momentum is derailed. Well thats my two games for the year at hindmarsh done.
