Re: AUFC NPL Season 2017
I guess the lads that took part in the pre-season friendlies will be the most likely.Last year 5-7 players, McGree, O'Doherty, Margush, Koutrombis and Tongyik, perhaps Warland and Ocheing, successfully graduated from the NPL team to A-league level.
Who is going to this season? Brook is a maybe, anyone else?
Carpenter, Kamsoba, The Konstand bros,

Re: AUFC NPL Season 2017
It is important that some do a get a look in, as the NPL side needs to play the role of both a stepping stone and a testing ground for local talent. That will only work if Adelaide United keep open a window of opportunity for the best NPL players.I guess the lads that took part in the pre-season friendlies will be the most likely.Last year 5-7 players, McGree, O'Doherty, Margush, Koutrombis and Tongyik, perhaps Warland and Ocheing, successfully graduated from the NPL team to A-league level.

I don't know about other clubs, but I feel AU has done really, really well in bringing youth through to the first team in recent years.
I don't know how much of this thing is a cost cutting measure, but it actually doesn't really matter.
We're seeing some real talent come through where a lot of teams just recycle.

I agree entirely we have done very well in the last few years. I am sure last years crop was a result of Gombau's impact on the club. I am doubting it will continue as strongly with that philosophy probably having been lessened at the club.I don't know about other clubs, but I feel AU has done really, really well in bringing youth through to the first team in recent years.

I agree. I just hope the club doesn't lose sight of this. IMO well planned youth development or serious overseas investment are the only things that can keep AU competitive in the league.I agree entirely we have done very well in the last few years. The youth team reserves are into their Grand final after a 4-0 win today. It seems Irabona and Beric were among the stars
