Re: Adelaide United - General Issues and Discussion
Yeah the problem is those people generally operate those aspects of the club solo.
Compared to the Melbourne clubs who have departments for events and media etc.

Found my own answer, James Sellar is the former Adelaide Crow. He now plays for Glenelg in the SANFL after being in WA for a while.I wouldn't know sorry.

Out of sheer curiosity, how much would it realistically cost to purchase Adelaide United?

At least $10 million is probably the lowest realistic figure. But no higher than $20 million.Out of sheer curiosity, how much would it realistically cost to purchase Adelaide United?
AUFC is more than a club; the price tag includes just some of the economic benefit the club brings to the state.
AUFC has an annual spend of around $7 million per year. Melbourne Victory spends around twice this figure per year.
Adelaide United FC: our club, our city, our state.

That is abysmal.

Disgusting.
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

No wonder he walked away from the club.
The only surprising aspect of this would be if he is the only person the club owes money too.

Re: Adelaide United - General Issues and Discussion
I've actually disabled the auto-renew option on my membership. Mainly because it looked like they were going to auto-renew me for a year AND 3 years which I didn't want to do (don't think it'll actually do that but the interface is messy). The other reason is I prefer to pay in instalments and it wasn't clear that was what was going to happen.
However, these things do make me question my financial support. I get that money's tight but not paying your employees is not something I can accept.

Re: Adelaide United - General Issues and Discussion
Yeah I'm reading a few people saying they are holding off renewing as well. Sadly most are just attempting to hold the club to ransom over hiring a coach promptly and their liking of the new signings which is sad.
But I too am holding off re-signing as the way the club has handled the Elrich situation really left a bad taste in my mouth. I understand people can step out of line at times but to act they we Griff did in a public forum and I would be surprised if he has remorse of IMO highlights the character of him and the way the club is being run. That coupled with the lack of interest in offering fans info on huge developments like player movement and then have Grant act like somehow the fans are out of line for wanting to know reeks of arrogance and as a member I feel taken for granted.
I'm not sure what I expect to change as I can't see change occurring for some time. But I think it is more likely that I'll buy the occasional match day ticket next season over a full membership.
Hopefully a significant drop in memberships will wake the club up to how they need to treat club legends and members.

I'm not renewing until I know who the coach is.
