Dunno if this was discussed elsewhere but Newcastle picked up Joel Allwright as a mature-age rookie - good on him, hope he gets some decent game time and kicks his career up a level!
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

Newcastle just love signing NPLSA players! Allwright, Solari, Welsh, Kitto, Koutrombis, Flores.Dunno if this was discussed elsewhere but Newcastle picked up Joel Allwright as a mature-age rookie - good on him, hope he gets some decent game time and kicks his career up a level!

Hasn't got them very far of late ... hopefully this season is an exception for them!

I guess NPL signings aren't likely to win you too much silverware themselves. Although I still don't get why they let Kitto go when he was so good for them.Hasn't got them very far of late ... hopefully this season is an exception for them!

MacLaren to Manchester city apparently. Which Obviously will result in him getting loaned out to Melbourne City.

Thought this loaning of players had been blocked by the FFA.MacLaren to Manchester city apparently. Which Obviously will result in him getting loaned out to Melbourne City.
Ridiculous rule if they allow it.

Newcastle bring in Ernie Merrick as new head coach.
I like Ernie, which given his time as MV coach is a big deal. But I find this appointment un-inspiring.

Ernie is a decent coach however the Jets need someone with flair. Stoic, results driven football isn't what the smaller clubs need to be about. They need to be showing pizzaz and letting the fans know that it will be a roller-coaster but it will be fun.Newcastle bring in Ernie Merrick as new head coach.

There is also a need for the smaller clubs to act as a conveyor belt for local talent as the parochial aspects of the clubs have greater weight than in the big city clubs.
I'd like to Ernie try his hand at something along the lines of the Indonesia National Team (if they ever get back into FIFA competitions) as I think he'd do well.

WSW release Mitch Nichols. Thats a huge surprise to me. I'd be very interested in him at AU.
His goal/assist stats are as good an anyone in the HAL in the last two seasons.
