Irsh FA paid 5 million to go away and not launch legal action as a result of "hand of henrie" gate.

I don't really think the money to the Irish is the controversy its been made out as. Isn't it just basically an out of court settlement? ie the Irish felt butthurt, wanted to kick up a stink and FIFA just gave them some monies to keep things out of the courts and be done with it.

Although I hear the money was supposed to go towards a new stadium(?) which the Irish FA also asked another governing body for $5m without mentioning they'd already received $5m from FIFA. Or some such.

....and Platini, Valcke. Chung Mong-joon copped a 6 year ban as well so that's the end of his Presidential bid. The guys replacing these in acting positions are not exactly shining lights. Prince Ali may be in the box seat to fix this mess.

I see a whistle blower has come forth is regards to Blatter. I believe it is for the criminal investigation as opposed to an FIFA process.

Blatter has had his final hearing and hopefully that is the last....though I suspect it will go to the CAS.
Next week's FIFA election should be interesting.

and the winner is.....Infantino. As a FIFA insider I am rather skeptical as to his ability to make material structural reforms to FIFA however I desperately hope to be proven wrong.

Same horse different jockey.
More of the same.

My sloppy usage of the English language certainly gives rise to some interesting ambiguities
