Well what a turn around! A month ago he was on the bench of the reserves side. Now Amini has been named in the Dortmund UCL squad to play Arsenal.

And people tried to give AU a hard time about ignoring youth. Sydney are champions of it!
EXCLUSIVE: Former Sydney FC forward Josh Macdonald has secured a two-year deal with English side Nottingham Forest and is hoping to make his debut for the club’s development team on Monday.

I guess I am a wee bit concerned that Dortmund have picked up 18 y.o. Mitsuru Maruoka on loan from Cerezo Osaka. He's 3 years younger, similar controlling midfielder type (indeed wore the #6 for Dortmund II earlier this year for what it's worth) and has been promoted to the 1st squad.

If Amini can't crack the 1st squad by January he needs to be moving on to someplace where he can get some decent football under his belt.

After a lifetime of battling bad luck and adversity, Blake Ricciuto was overcome with emotion when finally given a chance to shine by Uruguay side, Penarol.

 Another SFC player making it big after being cut by the club. Could that club be any more of a joke!

That second one was a poachers special.

Bresc retires from international football.

3 world cups, scored the equaliser to get us to penalties against Uruguay '05, part of the 2015 Asian Cup win but didn't feature in the final.

Guy is an absolute legend.

Adios Bresc. Well played.

I'm glad he's going out this way, as an Asian Cup champion. What a legend.

Surely a statue of Bresc needs to be put up out the front of Stadium Australia!

Luongo makes the top 10 list of players in Britain outside the EPL.

THE TOP 10
1. Matt Ritchie - Bournemouth

2. Grant Leadbitter - Middlesbrough

3. Calum Wilson - Bournemouth

4. Troy Deeney - Watford

5. Chris Martin - Derby County

6. Daryl Murphy - Ipswich Town

7. Dele Alli - MK Dons

8. Will Hughes - Derby County

9. Massimo Luongo - Swindon Town

10. Jordan Rhodes - Blackburn Rovers

Personally I'm glad that he stayed at Swindon after the Asian Cup. I think he could have easily taken one of the first offers he got and be now just another young talented hopeful playing reserves for an EPL side. Obviously there are worse places to be but I think being an important part of a League One club is better experience.
ATM Swindon are looking very good for promotion to the Championship so things are looking very good for him and I feel he could do far worse then just deciding to stay put at Swindon for the time being.

Luongo seems to have a good head on shoulders and/or is getting some very good advice. He joined the right club in Swindon when he left Spurs.
If he joins the right EPL club he might get reasonable game time. Ashley Westwood joined Aston Villa from league one, although based on his performances in league two and made 30 appearances in his first year.

True but that sort of stuff happens very rarely. I think you would need to find a club with fans and a coach willing to back kids. There aren't too many of those ATM.

There are enough good teams in good European leagues where he could go.

It doesn't always have to be the EPL.

I keep thinking the same. I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Freiburg/Atalanta/Celta de Vigo type of club.
