Started shaky at the back, before finally settling into the game. We gave away a few good chances, but created the best chances of the game for ourselves, and had the French defence looking uncertain themselves.

Looking forward to the second half.

I want to and also never want to experience that penalty shootout again.

Good luck to both teams tonight.
I'm sitting on the fence and preparing to throw my full support behind the winners on Sunday.

Kerr starts by Kennedy is out. Don't like changes at the back but good to have Kerr on the park from the go.

LFG Australia!!!

Kennedy is ill, by the sounds of it; hence a forced change.

Losing Kennedy proved to be the difference. Just all over the place at the back.

Fought well, and goal of the tournament for Kerr, but England were just too good.

Still, we go again Saturday for a best ever third place finish.

What a ride it has been.

Great WC run by the Matildas!

3rd place and bronze would be a strong finish.
Come on the Matildas!

Meh, 3rd/4th place games at World Cups are a waste of time. Maybe worthwhile at the Olympics to see who gets bronze, but these matches are often drab affairs between the players who didn't get a start during the tournament. So it's hardly a true test of who was the third best team overall.

Sorry, don't agree.
Both teams, especially the Matildas, will be desperate to finish with a win and the third place gong.

And our Captain thinks likewise.
“We’re excited,” said captain Sam Kerr. “Of course there was the disappointment the other night. But I think now the focus has turned to the game. Very proud to be here fighting for the bronze medal – the first time any Australian team will do so at a World Cup.”
