Im not one to normally buy into the hype.

However how about this team and how about Sam Kerr!

I always thought sam kerr would just be the little known sister of an afl star who also plays football but what a superstar she has become.

Its fantastic that the womens team has its own momentum and its own stars no longer trading off the back of the mens game ( i dont mean this as a backhanded comment ).

May the Matildas rise continue !

Kerr is on fire at the moment. She is the leading goalscorer of all time in the US womens league and is currently leading the golden boot and is nominated for FIFA womens player of the year.

Disappointing that the advertiser only had a 4 inch x 4 inch article in the very last bit of the sports section about the game last night and thats it.

Is sam Kerr the most marketable Australian footballer right now?

She is surely attracting attention from the casual fan to the barely interested sports fan.

I think its a fair statement that she is starting to gather more interest to football than any australian marquee signing.

They’re killing it.

Great to see FFA do something right and schedule all these women’s games.

Now to win something!

Love the new kit! I'm overdue for a new national team jersey. Glad to see they'll be making men's sizes!

Ante Milicic has smashed Australia's underage male programs as "not serious" as the Olyroos ready themselves for a qualifying tilt at the 2020 Games in Tokyo.

Great career move by Milicic. Bag your bosses. Everyone will be lining up to employ him when he finishes with the Matildas.

The Young Matildas are going well in the qualification tournament for the 2019 AFC u-19's Cup. They slaughtered Nepal and had a handy win over Myanmar which only leaves Uzbekistan to face in the group. Given our goal difference we are a betting certaintly to progress to the final tournament (unless we lose and Myanmar make up a 13 goal difference against Nepal).

So we lost to Itsly at the World Cup. What's the big problem? At least the Matildas now have a nice culture that doesn't make players feel bad for lack of fitness or for underperforming.

Nailed it!

Hopefully those who plotted the demise of the manager also have created a nice safe space on the moon where players can pretend they are lighter.

I on the other hand respect the players as professionals, so I am willing to admit they choked against italy and it wasnt good enough. However they are a tuff group and are capable of overcoming more than their “handlers” from above are willing to admit. Im sure they will dig deep tonight.

Whatever the outcome i hope they are treated as professionals after the match and not children trying really hard in their first sports day.

Onto the game....

We need a big performance from kerr. Scoring against asian minnows is one thing, being a threat on the world stage against fancied opponents in another! I have a feeling she can do it.
