Owen Goal scored in the 75th minute.

I thought we let him go on a free to Sydney mid-season? Good to see he's still around.

I didn't get to see the game but from reports it sounds like we fared decently with the amount of missing players we had. We are still struggling up-front though as was noted, it is a bit tough on McLaren given he's out of season.

None of our starting forwards are prolific goal scorers for their clubs either (except for Super Tim).

Kruse and Leckie (who was missing) don't get on the score sheet all that frequently. Mooy and Rogic score fairly often but it's a big ask for midfielders to pop up on a regular basis. We really need the wingers and another striker to be banging more in than they do.

I think it's going to be a problem for us for a while yet.

Juric was scoring a bit this season before he was injured, although he has not scored since he came back.
Rogic could have scored today but did not shoot well, still hard to consistently score from outside the area. Mooy plays deeper for Australia than he did for City so unlikely to score much.

We played really well!

Sure england had a second string team but we were hardly full strength either.

Mooy and Rogic surely added a few extra million to their transer fees.

What is the deal with Risdon? I dont understand why people rate him even in the aleague. I know he is young and had sterling to deal with but every time england looked dangerous in the box it seemed like Risdon had a brain snap and just didnt know where he was supposed to be.

A number of times i noticed him looking around and then thinking " shit im not supposed to be here ." he made such basic positioning errors that had nothing to do with the quality of his opponents

^^ agree re Risdon. One of our worst along with McLaren.

But he hasn't played for a month and has only had a handful of Socceroos games.

I thought his replacement did will when he came on. There isn't may other Aussie RBs available unfortunately.

Biggest positional weakness for us is clearly RB and striker.

Rb's like elrich, marrone or franjic for example would at very least know where they are supposed to be on the pitch. It was really a poor effort imo.

Mclaren got into a few good positions but was quiet, idont think he was bad just not really in the game.

the english have a bit to worry about for the euros , playing poor against turkey and mostly outplayed by australia.

Watched the first half then kept falling asleep during the second. I was pretty happy with how we played generally.
England put us under a great deal of pressure and generally everyone dealt with it well. Risdon was a bit of an issue and was at fault for the first goal for sure. Although the ball was lucky to find Rashford.

Degenek has replaced spiranovic in the socceroos/greece squad due to injury.

He was great at rb back and took the game in his stride. Very interested to see how he turns out. From what i can see his club is in a relegation battle but its not as if he plays in front of a few guys and a dog. His club averages 20k crowds.

I hope Giannou and Degenek both get starts at some point soon against good opposition to see where they are at.
