The side won their first game against the Philippines 6-0. George Mells got on the scoresheet.

The lads lost 3-0 to Japan overnight but still qualify for the U19 Championships as one of the best 2nd placed teams.

A couple of penalties conceded in that last game. Still, we are through.

Australia has kicked on the AFF U19 Championships well with two win from two so far.
Hopefully the new coach will bring a change in fortune and outlook.

We are in the final against Thailand, who inexplicably beat us 1:5 in the group stage. Not sure what that was about. Apart from that aberration we have looked rather comfortable.

Yeah hopefully the lads have learnt from that experience.

So not much rest for these lads. AFC U19 Championship kicks of middle of next month. I wonder if they can lure Panos Armenakas into the squad?

Looking at the squad as well. Interestingly Reno Piscopo of Inter-Milan Primavera side is part of the squad. I had heard he wasn't keen to play for Australia so that's great to hear.

2-3 loss to Uzbekistan. Both of our goals came from penalties as well and the Uzbek captain was sent off in the second half.
China lost to Tajikistan who we play next so the winner of that game will most likely join the Uzbeks in the knock out stage.

0-0 draw with Tajikistan. We missed a penalty and had a player sent off.
Another Asian Youth Championship, another disappointment.

Lucky escape against Jordan last night  A 1-1 draw in the end, however the Jordanians can probably feel a bit hard done by. Still, it is enough to see us go through in second place in the group (after a draw against South Korea and a win against Vietnam).

Onto the quarterfinals agaisnt either Saudi or Tajikistan.

First game for the u-20 AFC Asian Cup for us today; vs Vietnam.

Great that Panashe, Johnny & Bernando have a call-up though I am unsure as to why Nestory didn't make the cut; good for us I suppose.
