The Socceroos will round out preparations for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup with a rematch of the 2011 Final when they face defending Asian Cup Champions Japan in an international friendly in Osaka on 18 November.

Good to see our last three matches are against opposition we're likely to play at some point in the Asian Cup.

I'm off to the game tomorrow night.

Will be my first 'away' Socceroos game.

We seem to play according to opposition. If it's the dutch or south americans we play attacking fast football, if it's a low ranked asian side we play like an even lower ranked asian side, which we are now.
The only saving grace for upcoming asian cup is that it is played here

In fairness to ange he does not have much to work with.

A versatile striker with x factor is something we have not produced in years and dearly lack.

I think there is an element to the socceroos that just cannot rise to the small time games. Yet play a wc game against world class opponents and suddenly they have their game face on.

Im sure things will pick up for the asian cup with all the expectation around but we really have an issue with our lack of strikers

We're going to find out just how good a coach Ange is.

I rated his work at Brisbane and Victory, but he was able to buy some absolute quality players at both those clubs which made a huge difference.

He was also given months and months with daily sessions in the a-league.

National football is completely different its more about covering your weakness as you cannot just look to the transfer market

What a depressing state of affairs. Probably the dullest game of football I've ever attended, only slightly improved by the sight of a Qatari playing the bagpipes in the crowd.

Sitting behind this bloke was the clear highlight though:
