Anges win % 22
Holger win % 55
Just saying. About 30 games difference though. Asian cup may be his downfall or the turnaround we need.

Need to look at the calibre of sides Ange has played compared to Holger.Anges win % 22
Holger win % 55

The issue is though, Holger's job was purely to get us to a WC, Ange's job is to turn the country around after 3 and a half years of incompetence. That isn't going to suddenly fix itself in a few games time.

Who do you think has played against better opposition Stuckey?
Ange has played against some good teams, yes, but he isn't getting results against weaker opponents in Asia.

Re: Asian Cup lead up friendlies
Thats becuase he's changing things up. Trying new players and new systems. It took Gombau a third of a season to see some fruits of his labor, Ange has a harder task with limited time around players and then they go back to their clubs and play alternative styles.Who do you think has played against better opposition Stuckey?

I agree but this is the same for any international coach.
I just hope that come the competitive games (ACL and WC qualifiers) we start getting results.

Not exactly. Some coaches are given great sides and really have no excuses but to win. Others are handed sides that need massive changes.I agree but this is the same for any international coach.

Its the great coaches that improve struggling sides or keep winning sides winning over a long term period.

And let's be honest.
The player quality is not there at the moment.

Re: Asian Cup lead up friendlies
http://www.foxsports.com.au/football/so ... 7113181369Socceroos squad to face Japan, November 18 in Osaka: Terry Antonis (Sydney FC — 3 caps), Aziz Behich (Bursaspor — 6), Mark Bresciano (Al Gharafa — 80), Josh Brillante (Fiorentina — 5), Tim Cahill (New York Red Bulls — 75), Jason Davidson (West Bromwich Albion — 13), Ivan Franjic (Torpedo Moskva — 11), Chris Herd (Aston Villa — 3), James Holland (Austria Vienna — 15), Mile Jedinak (Crystal Palace — 51), Robbie Kruse (Bayer Leverkusen — 31), Mitch Langerak (Borussia Dortmund 0 5), Mathew Leckie (Ingolstadt 04 — 15), Massimo Luongo (Swindon Town — 4), Matt McKay (Brisbane Roar — 49), Mark Milligan (Melbourne Victory — 33), Mitch Nichols (Perth Glory — 4), Aaron Mooy (Melbourne City — 3), Mat Ryan (Club Brugge — 12), Trent Sainsbury (PEC Zwolle — 3), Nikolai Topor-Stanley (Western Sydney Wanderers — 4), James Troisi (SV Zulte Waregem — 15), Alex Wilkinson (Jeonbuk Hyundai — 10).
Squad for the Japan game.
Distinct lack of strikers. Even though Juric has been injured I'd take him. Not surprised Djite was over looked. I'm very surprised more players that already play in a passing side aren't included. Brattan, North would be an inclusions for me.
Glad to see Mooy get a call up.
What's people's thought on Boogs? Defence is clearly an issue and IMO he's been nothing but brilliant this season. He clearly suits Ange's system.

HT
0-0
Both sides with good chances, AUS playing better than expected but were lucky not to concede after a point blank cross from Kagawa that ricocheted off Jedinaks shin just past the post. That chance came from sookie la la Behich letting Honda past him and crying for a foul instead of chasing him down.

Re: Asian Cup lead up friendlies
Japan decided to stop just training and start playing.
2-0
69 mins.
Completely free header at back post from a corner, anyone could have scored there was that much space.
2nd goal was from a cheeky but clever backheel.

FT
2-1
Cahill with a consolation goal at the 92 minute mark. Early cross played in by Behich, Cahill heads in unopposed. Took 92 mins for Australia to put a decent ball into the box.

Disappointing that we don't even look like scoring without Timmy on the park. It's not the way Ange wants to play though.
Sounds like we had a promising first half with possession at least.

Re: Asian Cup lead up friendlies
Why cant we just get the ball at leckies feet in a 1v1 so he can use his pace and muscle.
Kruse will be a threat if he can get some game time b4 asian cup.
I possibly have my rose tinted glasses on but Goodwin and Elrich based on form should be walk ins to the roos first 11 , especially elrich.
