I thought I'd start a thread for all our Overseas Aussies talk. Feel free the create independent threads for news you deem big enough for their own ones.

Talk is that Leverkusen are looking to loan Kruse out. I hope he can get some decent game time in the lead up to the Asian Cup.

according to the WATRS's twitter feed Evan Kostopolous sign for South China AA.

Not sure what league they are actually in but good luck to him

*EDIT They play in Hong Kong , same league as Kitchee, i wonder if Gumby had anything to do with it.

Its always great to see players who did not make the great in the A-league still follow their ambitions and create a long professional career overseas.

That's why he missed Olympic's FFA cup match.

Brad Smith has joined Swindon Town on loan from Liverpool. Hopefully that gives him some regular game time and he can gain a call up so the Socceroos can lock him in as an Australian player if that's what he wants.

Federici and Ryan Edwards should both start in the Championship season opener for Reading. Surely Edwards isn't far away from a call up.

Funny that he apparently wasn't good enough for Perth.

Apparently Celtic have told Rogic he can leave if he can get a contract elsewhere,
I'd have him on AU's bench ;)

Another player who left for Europe too early. He's missed a good year or two in development now.

I agree. This talk of players benefitting from staying in the HAL longer is really gaining some legs IMO. I hope either or both FFA and HAL clubs are able to put things in place to make staying in the HAL more attractive for young stars.

I'd love to see the FFA chip in to keep players like Taggart or Brilliante in the HAL over them chipping in for the next ADP.

I'm all for them moving overseas if they can play first team but it's such a lottery.

Even Leckie who is now a regular in B2 had a tough initial 12 months.

As am I, I just look at Japan's model and think we would benefit from that a lot.

They hold on to a lot more of their younger stars till they're into their early 20's instead of letting them go in their teens.
Then once they do leave a number of them are moving for decent fees and going to bigger clubs that require there ability and don't want to develop them further.
Obviously the J-league has far more money to do that though.

Eager for more first-team football, fringe Socceroos midfielder Jackson Irvine has taken up a season-long loan deal at Scottish Premier League strugglers Ross County.

Good to see him get out of Celtic for the season and hopefully find some first Xi.
But Ross County? Surely coming back to the HAL would have been a better move.
