Socceroos v Spain

Postby Stuckey Mon Jun 23, 2014 9:53 am

Apparently Leckie will go to striker since Cahill is out. Bozanic and Halloran to start as well. Bresc is apparently out as well. I guess that means Oar will go to a central midfield role which I feel will be better for him.

I wonder how the spanish will react.

They will not want to even give the game much thought yet losing to australia would be unthinkable.

We can talk about formations and playing styles all we like but the Australian mindset is what will make us succesfull assuming we always have a manager that understands this IMO

Any one bothering to get up for this?

I'm forced to watch the game on line as the Austrian and German TV are showing the Chile v Netherlands game as expected...

Pepe Reina?

I feel this was probably our worst game as far as the way we played and the skill errors we made. But as for our journey I feel this WC has been as good as anyone could have hoped for. I'm excited to watch our national team again! Bring on the Asian Cup!

I loved the fearless attitude wilkinson running at defenders was a great example.

The 3 teams we faced played 3 very different styles and when u consider the amount of injuries we had in the squat ( bresciano, milligan ) plus pre world cup ( kruse, kennedy, rogic etc) its been a bloody good effort
