200-1 for the win against the GDR back then, lol. Somethings have not changed.

Australia 2-3 Netherlands

What could have been a 4-1 win ends in a 2-3 loss.

Too hard for words.
End game.

Another match where Australia proved their superior fitness by running out the full 80 minutes.

If we had been more clinical in front of goals we would have been on 6 points and top of such a stacked group.

I think we have had a slighter rougher end of the stick this year from the refs and cahill missing the spain match from a ridiculous yellow against chile will hurt.

Putting this in context though, an injury depleted development squad with an aussie manager had no right to take the game to any of their opponents let alone think they can win. Very proud !!?

Well done......but 6 points would have been amazing

If Tommy Oar had just passed that ball along the ground rather than smashing it at Leckie's midriff we might have taken the lead again.

For the Dutch to go straight down the other end and score from a saveable goal really kills you.

Boys did well but were let down by some needless errors at key moments.

Think Huge needs to get a shot in goals and Oar can start the next one on the bench.

Agree about Eugene.

Ryan has been poor but being realistic this is what happens when you are blooding a youthful team. Matt Ryan in the future and it will be a small blip in his career.

Ryan has had some very good moments and some average moments. Definitely one for the future.

Biggest let down for me has been Tommy Oar. A fit Kruse and Leckie on the wings and he will struggle for game time IMO.

Dead rubber game approaching - you still want to go out with a bang but I think some of the fringe players should get a gig.

What could have been? Still, very happy with how we have played so far.

Eugene on next game please.

I agree with Oar. That cross to Leckie was a shocker. I'm shocked Ange left him on as long as he did. Amazing game though looking forward to the Asian cup now!

Oar was indeed average. He was better against Chile.

AU have developed a World Cup assistant manager in Vidmar and a World Cup player (one of the best for the Green and Gold too) in Leckie.

Hopefully we can add World Cup goalkeeper to that list, and so AU can have a World Cup player on their books! :D

Me.
I thought he would have been a good fit to replace Breciano ast some point.
