FIFA World Cup 2014 - General Discussion

Postby EdDog Tue Jun 03, 2014 8:29 am

Not sure if there is a dedicated forum yet so this should do.

Roos 2-0 against some Brazilian Div 2 side overnight. Huge playing 80 mins between the posts.

I'm not really that sad if we lose Rogic. He has potential but his lead up to this WC has been riddled with injury. Hardly ideal.

Rogic does not need to play overly well for us to be useful.

He is the most likely in pur squad to create something and put halloran oar or leckie in. He only needs to do this once for us to make a game of it.

So much pressure on him though and we forget he only has a handful of professional games under his belt

Birras also cut and one more to come. He's staying on in case Langerak's knee doesn't hold up.

Sounds like Huge is definitely number 2. Well in.

Matt McKay supposedly won't make the cut either.

Good. Do no rate him. Apart from being really fit, he's useless. Not good enough for midfield. And not a left back.

They'll miss Kennedy more than Rogic. Neither were in the best XI, Kennedy is a good tactical card though.

Milligan and Jedinak are the key to the side for mine. That combination + a 3rd midfielder (Bresciano?) are the only realistic means for Australia to stop other teams playing how they want.

The four players to miss out on the final squad are Mark Birighitti, Josh Kennedy, Tom Rogic and Luke Wilkshire.

Suprised that Mckay got the nod over Wilkshere. I dont rate Mckay at all.
