Having just come back from a scouting trip in Europe, Postecoglou indicated he would include some players who impressed him there.

He touched base with the likes of Swindon Town midfielder Massimo Luongo, Millwall duo Shane Lowry and Scott McDonald, Bailey Wright and Neill Kilkenny of English League One side Preston and Scotland-based Jackson Irvine.

He also spent time in Germany assessing FSV Frankfurt players Mathew Leckie and Nikita Rukavytsya before heading to Holland to watch FC Utrecht duo Tommy Oar and Adam Sarota, who recently came back from injury.

"There's a few that I went to watch and some of them will be included," he said.

Great to see him out there checking what's on offer.
I really have high hopes for Ange. Not that we will succeed but that he will bring in the right new faces required for the future. The Asian Cup should be our number one focus. Winning that on home soil will be huge for the game and doing it with a new list of names that the game can follow for years to come will be great! Because we can't keep following Kewell, Cahill and Bresciano forever. We need new household names.

With Spiranovic, McGowan, Good and Sainsbury all in the mix you would imagine the chances of Lucas getting into the squad are reduced somewhat. If they want an old head who is playing regular football then take the Og monster.

Ange was on ABC radio not long ago and basically said the older crew's time is at an end.
