Road to the WC

Postby shinAUFC Wed Jan 29, 2014 2:13 pm

Kruse out
Rhys Williams out ( snapped achilles )

Anyone else think we are better off planning for the future as of now ? i just cant see us even being competitive with the 2 massive outs we have just suffered so we may as well give our future stars some valuable experience against the best.

ruka
leckie
Ikonomidis
Bulut
Oar
Davidson
Ryan
Bozanic
Da silva
Mooy
Tombides

Are all guys who will be around for years to come, give them the chance in this WC i say! At least we will have an excuse for being pumped at the WC if we play youth LOL

I would personally say. As a rule if you're not playing first team football then no WC berth.

^ fair call. would reserves football be good enough?

i'd add Amini to that list, as far as i am aware he's been playing for Dortmund II?

I guess that would count. That's Bundesliga Div 3 right?

Yea Div 3, so not the greatest quality league obviously. but he is training with the first team, and in Dortmund's first class training facilities.

realistically, the next world cup would likely be Amini's time to shine tho huh?

Yeah I'd much rather someone like him get a go over aging players that have had their chance.

on the flip side to this, who do you guys also think should most definitely not make the squad?

e.g. Thompson, Neill.

do you think Kewell should go to Rio? I'm fence sitting about it at the moment.

I wouldnt mind Thompson if he is in good form he can be as good a threat as any other striker we have.

Kewell possibly once again if he continues his form in the Aleague. We still need some old experienced heads but our squad should not be full of them.

Call me crazy but Bosnar could be a wild card for the squad because lets be honest we will not score to many from open play. His leaded boot could be handy if we get any kind of foul in our attacking third.... hell attacking half.
