Disappointing after what they showed against Colombia.

We had a chance at the end to snatch it with an indirect FK from a pass back. Very disappointing result. Don't know where the team from Sunday is but none of them showed up today

Jeez it doesn't sound good considering the opposition - "El Salvador have beaten Australia 2-1 for their first-ever win at an 11-a-side FIFA competition."

Guess first game was a fluke.

I wonder if this was all in their head? I think after the first performance the lads probably though the El Salvador game would be a walk in the park. As many of us thought. El Salvador did do very well tactically and pressed us very high. I feel we went in with one plan and when that didn't work we didn't know what else to do. It was very clear to see watching player after player run into colder sacs that we needed a plan B but that never came. In the end we came to rely on crosses into the area but due to most of the lads poor crossing ability something many Australia footballers seem to have a problem with that failed. One area I felt we were poor was in the final third. Attacks broke down as soon as they started and I feel Taggart just isn't the player we need up front. He is always turning his back to the player with the ball and hoping if a ball over the top or through the defence for him to run on to. This almost never came but he kept trying to do this. We needed someone to face the ball and hold it up to allow our other attacking players to come forward and assist. Pain was good for us but he reminds me of Cassio 99 times out of 100 he'll try and get on to his left but he's not as experienced as Cassio to know when is a good time to do it and when isn't.

But it isn't all doom and gloom if we play as well as we did against Colombia and beat Turkey we will progress thru obviously that's a big if but at least we know our lads are capable of doing it. We play Turkey on Friday night.

So now we haven't won an under-20 World Cup match since 2003.

So now we haven't won an under-20 World Cup match since 2003.

We started the first game so brightly and promised so much that I'm left wondering where it went wrong.

We took the lead in every game and relinquished it.
