Didn't catch the game but every report suggests that Euge was the only Socceroo out there. All over us in every facet bar the one that counted.

Something like Korea: 8+ shots on goal to 1, 60% possession but Huge saved us multiple times.

Another report.

The Socceroos goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic came to Australia's rescue on Saturday night, almost single-handedly holding a fiercely attacking South Korea to a 0-0 draw in their East Asian Cup clash in Seoul.

From the Guardian's
5 things we learned...

Eugene Galekovic is one of the best goalkeepers in Asia

You have to wonder what Mark Schwarzer made of it all...
And then there was the fantastic performance from Galekovic. The Adelaide United keeper has caught the eye on the continent over the years with some stellar performances in the Asian Champions League that put the icing on the club cake after his exploits in the A-League but he can't have played better than this.

I wonder how much longer we can keep a hold of him?

I hope we sign him up again otherwise he can leave at season's end for free. I would love to see a deal come out of it that would benefit both parties. Then Izzo has this season to prepare.

I think Huge would know it would be silly to leave AU before the WC. Everyone has been singing his praises about how his consistent game time is why he's in such good form.

But we definitely do need to sign him up for a new deal though. The way keepers are going these days they can play well in to their late 30's.

Schwartzer is has never really impressed me for the roos ( obviously his shootout saves were instrumental for us ). I just cant really think of a time i saved anything that really should have been in the back of the net. Sure he makes the odd good save and does his job well.

But how many times does Eugene pull off absolute world class saves, not just in the A-league but in ACL also. He is easily Australia's most underrated player. If only he had that european passport i have no doubt he would be a number 1 keeper for a club in one of the big euro leagues.

Well look at the sides Australia plays. Except for Korea, Japan and friendlies we really should be winning almost all of our games comfortably. So as a result Schwarzer isn't used to a massive extend. Euge in the other hand either has AU defence in front of him or is playing an Asian nation with a prominently HAL squad in front of him. Its only natural that he will be worked more. IMO Schwarzer is still our best option but I think Euge could easily cover him if need be. I may be bias but for the Eastern state to harp on about Covic or Ryan being better is IMO laughable!

3-2 to Japan. I hear we were denied a clear-cut penalty (naturally). Ah well. The day we DO beat Japan will be so sweet.

I can't remember a "clear cut penalty".
The Tomi Juric "shirt tug" was never going to be enough for a penalty.

Two, nine, 11 – figures not from the upper reaches of the Australian cricket team's scorecard but the numbers of respective changes made by China, South Korea and Japan to their starting line-ups for the second round of games at the East Asian Cup. Australia made zero...

What a joke. Holger is such a dud coach.

We make no changes so he obviously thinks he's playing his best 11.

Then when we get dominated in our first two games and are out of contention, all of a sudden it's a comp to trial youngsters.

Then we'll get smashed in game three and finish bottom of the group but Holger will say it was because of the new faces.

Sigh.

IMO this was always just a tournament to trail youth. So I'm glad we're part of it. Personally except for omitting Partalu (I think my spelling is wrong there) It makes sense to play the same 11 as the majority of them are out of their club season and naturally out of general match fitness. First game was a great build up for the second.

Don't know if anyone is watching this China game but we can barely get the ball.

I know this team is young but no younger than the Victory team that took it to Liverpool.

Mooy from 35 yards. Don't think I've ever seen a goal like that from the Socceroos. Brilliant.

1-1 HT.

Getting dominated in possession but having some decent chances when we do get the ball.
