EAST ASIAN CUP: Euge and Dars

The Socceroos squad for the upcoming EAFF East Asian Cup was announced today. Eugene Galekovic, Dario Vidosic and Osama Malik all received a call-up, but no sign of Cassio.

This means they'll miss Central Coast Mariners away and Victory at home in Rounds 9 and 10 (Saturday 1 December and 7 December respectively). Those matches suddenly got tougher.

The full squad is as follows:

Dino djulbic has certainly come a long way also.

It looks like a great sqaud and id love to see this squad play to 1st team, i somehow have a feeling they would humble the oldies

No Hugene is a bit of a worry going up against CCM and the tards.

Mariners will probably be a bit less creative without Rogic but I can see the Victory peppering our goal for periods.

I think we can cover our outfield players OK at least from a defensive perspective.

we have depth but they are our three best players , it will hard to beat the tards without them, and even harder to beat the marines, what a bummer

Wellington went a week without 7 members of their first team due to internationals against heart.

Izzo will get to show his stuff, barker daish and probably caravella. Not so bad is it?

I'm mainly worried about the lack of Eugene, Izzo is a good goalkeeper but extremely prone to bad mistakes from what I've watched of him.


Hopefully he has the games of his life when Eugene is gone

I'm really happy for all of those guys, definitely deserved it. Going without Huge without the back-up of Birighitti for the first time however is going to be a nervy time for us. If our defense can remain resilient like last Saturday, then I'm sure will be fine.

We definitely have the depth though to cover Vidosic and Malik, won't be as good but we have the depth. But its still unfortunate that this comes at a time when we will face to sides that would test us even when we are at full strength.

Remember when we played MV in preseason and Galeckovic didn't play? 4-2 with some very sloppy keeping, I'm nervous.

My biggest worry is that Eugene will go there but might not get game time coz for some reason everyone likes to jerk off how good Ryan is. He's not even in my top 3 Aussie Keepers in the A-League.

Galeckovic, Birraz, Covic are all better than Ryan.

The squad gets trimmed from 25 to 20 before they head off to the tournament so could be that Ozzie will get cut, perhaps even Vido (not likely with Euge cos there's only 2 keepers in the squad).

Bad for them but good for us if that happened.

From what I heard the result was more down to lousy defending then keeping.
