Can't really argue with many of those selections, this looks like a pretty well-balanced squad and very keen to see the likes of Leckie, Ruka, Rogic, Oar, Babalj, Behich get some game time.
Mooy, Vidosic, Galekovic should be a bit disappointed given their form (but good for AUFC they weren't selected).

All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

All I can say is thank christ for that! It took almost entire nation 6 months of nagging before Holger got it thru is dumb head!
I'm very excited to watch this game!
Great to see Rogic in the squad took youth talent in the HAL getting noticed! Would have loved to see Ossie in the squad Valeri isn't a ball rag compared to Ossie's current form!
And of course I'm so keen to see Leckie get gametime. If Holger plays Archie over him I think I'll jump out my window!

http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/news/112 ... -ruled-outAustralia head coach Holger Osieck has made a number of changes to his squad for the upcoming international friendly match against Korea Republic at the Hwaseong Stadium, Hwaseong in the Korea Republic on Wednesday evening.
Withdrawn from the Socceroos squad are Luke Wilkshire, who picked up a hamstring injury while playing for his Russian club Dinamo Moscow, Matt McKay, who has a facial contusion from his K-League match for Busan IPark on the weekend and Adam Sarota due to a knee injury.
Osieck has called into the Socceroos squad Korean-based defender Robert Cornthwaite who currently plays for Chunnam Dragons in the K-League. This will be Cornthwaite's first appearance in the Socceroos squad since making his debut in 2009 against Kuwait in an AFC Asian Cup qualifier in Canberra.

Re: Squad named for friendly v Korea Republic, 14/11
awsome news for him, by all reports he has been killing it over there
this is the first time in years im actually excited to watch the socceroos. These are all players we have spent the past 5 years evolve via the national competition and head off abroad. Every single one of these guys would be busting to impress and show their worth.
Unlike the regular socceroos who it seems cant even be ass'd half the time
------Babalj-------
Lecke--Rogic--Ruka
PLEASE!!!!

I'm devo Sarota is out. He has been in fine form in The Netherlands. I hope Oar gets a start he was much to do with why the game turned around v Iraq.
Very much looking forward to both matches tomorrow! The future is here! Lets just not expect too much! I'm happy if we just don't get pummeled!

Starting XI: Schwarzer, McGowan, Neill (c), Cornthwaite, Thwaite, Thompson, Holland, Valeri, Oar, Rukavytsya and Brosque
Well I wasn't expecting the U23 squad but why play Neill and Valeri when they are suspended for the next match? Why not work out who you want in there instead?

cornthwaite, playing terribly
Re: Squad named for friendly v Korea Republic, 14/11
Ruka makes it 1-1 just before half time.
Silky through ball from Oar and neat finish from Ruka.
Overall I'm more than impressed. Sure we're scrappy and not as smooth as SK. But I think we've had more possession.
I'd much rather watch this squad than our current NT.
Valeri and Neil have been average. Corny not having a great game unfortunately.
