Socceroos v Jordan

Postby Stuckey Wed Sep 12, 2012 1:06 am

Socceroos starting 11 v Jordan: SCHWARZER, OGNENOVSKI, NEILL, CARNEY, WILKSHIRE, BRESCIANO, MCKAY, KRUSE, HOLMAN, CAHILL, BROSQUE.
Playing in a 4-2-3-1. Holman in and Ruka out from the Lebanon game.

Really hope if the game goes our way we can make the changes we want. By we I mean what I want!
Bresc off Sarota on
Neill or Oga off McGowan on
Carney off Davidson on.

Not completely sold with Brosque up front but at the moment it appears he is the best we have.

Oga goes down with an injury Spira replaces him. Between Spira, Neill and Carney how many games have these guys played in the last month? Probably less then 5. How are they earning their places?

I wish I could say I enjoy Socceroos matches but I do not. Fucking horrible shite. Carney has turned it over every time. Neil is a wanker and Spira is an unknown quantity. Jordan playing the better football so far.

I'd rather see us try and play good football and fail than see the has beens in our squad win ugly - if they even win.

I'd rather see young and exciting players too.

I hear you Supsup. Pity Leckie was injured he appeared to be in the running for selection. We really miss someone with the quality of Viduka that could receive the ball and hold it up. Djite or Babalj come to mind but both are still miles from Duke's standard.
Steven Lustica has been making appearances for Hijduk Split even against Inter Milan in their 2-0 in Milan. How doesn't that warrent a cap?

0-0 HT. We are looking seriously sloppy. Neill is doing nothing but booting long balls and giving away lousy frees due to his inability to keep up. Carney is on fire as per usual with a turn over a minute. Wilkshire and Kruse looking good down the right. Pitch isn't fantastic but is no excuse for how lousy we are, some look like they had a big night last night making basic errors. Jordan have gone close a couple of times but the game is ours if we wake up and take it. Hopefully we see Carney off Davidson on, and maybe McKay off for Sarota.

Didn't watch the game but the socceroos don't interest me anymore. I just don't love any of the players, I feel like they just select players without looking at form. There are some pretty good under 30 year old Aussies in top flight leagues that are being overlooked.

Jordan were paying $6.00 btw
