Australia To Compete In East Asia Cup?

Postby Stuckey Thu Apr 26, 2012 5:18 pm

FOOTBALL Federation Australia (FFA) has expressed an interest in the Socceroos competing at the 2013 EAFF East Asian Cup.

The EAFF Executive Committee (ExCo) met recently and discussed the possibility of the Socceroos participating in the triennial event, which was won by China PR in 2010.

Wow! Great move! Sure this tournament isn't huge but more games for Socceroos can only be a good thing. This will surely give us the chance to play more of the next generation that needs to get gametime in the seniors. Hopefully locking in some of those kids who are considering player for other countries!

This is also adding a bit of fuel to the split the AFC fire. Definately something that needs to be considered IMO!

Indeed, a few more games for points cannot be a bad thing. They certainly add an edge that friendlies never quite manage.

Also give Adelaide more of a chance to score Socceroo matches. I can't see 30,000 rocking up to see us take on Cambodia! Although maybe Blahblah can enlighten us on their travelling supporters!
