There's a rumour going around that the Socceroos will play England at Wembley on 11 October this year...
I read it on twitter - and there was no source, so it's still just a rumour - but it's something to get excited about. I'd seriously consider flying over for that...

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/pla ... 6053080632EIGHT years after humiliating England, the Socceroos have another date with the mother country in their sights - this time at Wembley.
Negotiations are well advanced for a friendly between England and Australia in October, a game that could be worth up to $1 million for Football Federation Australia.
There is also the possibility of a partnership between the two soccer bodies establishing a regular soccer "Test" match, eight years after the Frank Farina-coached side shocked Sven-Goran Eriksson's England side 3-1 at Upton Park.
A match may be played in Australia too.
The thought of us playing England and a fairly good chance that i may be able to go is to mouth watering to consider!
They're always talking about an 'ashes' regularly played match. I wonder really how much the FA would actually care about something like that. Obviously we'd be interested but i can't see them jumping straight at it.
Time to Djbate!

Re: Socceroos to play at Wembley?
Oct 11 is the date they are reportedly going for however we'd need some assistance from the AFC to move a scheduled World Cup Qualifier slated for the same date (move it to the 7th or 8th of October).

Such a game against the poms in some ways its lose lose for us.
If we lose it makes our last win against them just a minor blip, if we win there will be 100 excuses as to why it happened.
That said i feel like a kiwi preparimg for a socceroos game lol, really loving the quality of friendlies being organised of late tbh

Ppl who slap the label of truth on the 1st thing they hear, do it out of ignorance, convenience or cant be bothered picking through a thin layer of falsehood to find the real truth, or possibly even another lie

The FA reckon they haven't heard anything about the game.
