I just hate how AFL'ers complain about the money that Lowy got, when AFL gets about 10 times that every single year from the government.
Yeah didn't the feds give the Crows and Power $100m recently?

I had a reasonable argument via email with Graham Cornes because of him passing off his opinion as fact. Needless to say he didn't accept my pointing this out to him.
Got the transcript?

Yeah Mike Cockrell did a story last year about how AFL has received almost 10 times the funding Football has received over the last 10 years, even though less then half the players play the sport.

Next the Crows will want a bail out for the money they lost this season!

They will get it from SANFL, and it will end up being part of the costs for the AO redevelopment along with SACA's debts.

Forget it people.
It's not worth the energy.

Let's just support and enjoy our game/club and let them get on with whatever it is that interest them.

( 99% of people I know over have never heard of Aussie Rules. Whenever i have bothered to describe it to anyone they always seem to assume i am talking about "Rugby". )

Do WIlson and Cornes consider themselves Australian? Because if they had a brain they would call the game football and not 'soccer' as 'soccer' is an American word. Those two obviously have fallen into the traps of globalisation.

Eh? Soccer is an English word and contrary to what popular belief is used quite frequently over there in the media.

And what is football really? In some places it's association football. In some it's aussie rules, in some it's rugby league, in some it's american football, in some it's Gaelic football... You get the drift.

Football is where the ball meets your foot 80% of the game, and the other 20% made up of heading, chesting and goalkeeper handling. Unlike AFL where 90% of the ball is in your hands, or in a pack of Gorillas trying to play a 'sport'.
