Re: Australia's World Cup 2022 Bid
i dont understand how its possible we could finish last on the profitability scale when we have the asian market... when asian viewship doubled that of europe and south america combined in 2010, how can the fact that we slot in with the asian market so well put us anywhere but the top of the list for profitability?

Don't know either...
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010 ... d-cup-fifaFor 2022, it rated the United States top with an overall 100% evaluation, followed by Japan with 73%, South Korea 71%, Qatar 70%, and Australia on 68%.
Anyone up out there?
There are just about to announce the 2018 and 2022 WC

Re: Australia's World Cup 2022 Bid
QATAR
.... yeah....
Im unsure how Qatar world cup will benifit the game, Its a country of barely 1 million, so even if this country becomes football crazy it does didly for the game ..
50 plus degrees in the summer, great they will aircondition the stadiums, what about everywhere else?
Apparently they plan to dismantle their stadiums and rebuild them in other parts of the world who need it, i do not see the point in this, as the places "who need it" dont need 100k seater stadiums they need much more then that... think stadiums , transport upgrades, economy boosts etc etc.
If the US won i would have been able to see why and accept it, but QATAR are you serious?
They have brought themselves auto qualification for 2022 world cup, Qatar will be playing in the world cup.... seriously..
FIFA talk about the game leaving a legacy, well im quite sure had the USA won it would have helped turn their economy around, and i think we all know what it would have done for australia and even newzealand. yet the country that probably needs a boost the lease in the whole world gets it,
There are going to be SO MANY EMPTY seats for 2022, its just not funny
interesting to say the least.
on another note, a 2018 world cup trip to russia is very appealing to me.
Oh well that free's up alot of money to spend on the A-league next year

Ppl who slap the label of truth on the 1st thing they hear, do it out of ignorance, convenience or cant be bothered picking through a thin layer of falsehood to find the real truth, or possibly even another lie

*clears throat...* and so it begins... WE WANT A ROOOOOOOF!Oh well that free's up alot of money to spend on the A-league next year
have to add some comedy, coz i'm pretty darn miserable... same shin, US i would of accepted, plus i expected it. Qatar makes little sense other than money.
Qatar get a tourism boom and set their country up for a very very long time, and FIFA get assistance from rich friends (forever i'd say) to further grow the game.
EDIT: with no insult or offence intended, reckon there's riots in England? i hope not here... we don't need that kind of publicity, not now even more so.

Qatar, proof that you don't need to be compliant to win the World Cup - all you need is a big pile of petrochemical wealth.
