Great win to knock Norway out!

Well done!

I watched the game last night. Norway played ye olde pressing midfield/long ball from the back game which didn't suit us at all (which is ironic as that is how we used to play - my things have changed). We still tried to pass it out from the back which is good however lost all our rhythm so coughed it up fairly often. DeVanna looked great though and she really brought the Matildas back into the game.

Bring on the Swedes!

Tough game tonight.
But we can still dream unlike England and the Germans.

Sweden had some lovely movement on the ball. It was still a good tournament for the Matildas and with them being so young it should set us up well for future tournaments.

Next challenge, the Olympics!

I got my times mixed up and missed the game...
After viewing the highlights I'm less pissed off I missed it.
DESPITE being knocked out of the Women's World Cup the Matildas are one of the hottest properties in soccer.

FIFA's media channel revealed more than 1.5 million viewers tuned in to the group-stage Matildas and Norway clash, with China drawing the biggest audience when nearly 700,000 had their eyes glued to Australian's 2-1 win.

The Australians also earned Football Federation Australia a neat $350,000 in FIFA prizemoney after crashing out to Sweden 3-1 in the quarter-final in Augsburg.

I watched the game, 1:45am to 4:30pm. Time zones can make ET and penalties a real killer.

Nice goal by Sawa. I also liked the guy in the crowd with the big sign asking Hope Solo to marry him. The kid has taste :)
