The draw happened overnight for this tournament next year, and Australia have landed in a pretty tough group alongside Brazil, Norway and the sleeping giant Equatorial Guinea...

Group A
Germany
Canada
Nigeria
France

Group B
Japan
New Zealand
Mexico
England

Group C
USA
Korea DPR
Colombia
Sweden

Group D
Brazil
Australia
Norway
Equatorial Guinea

If they can play like they did in the Asian Cup I'd say they'd more than likely at least make it through the group stage.

I am pretty sure it is.

Also this is a very tough group, however on our form we should be able to get 5 or 6 points from our games and make it to the second round. Ideally we want to draw EG first round and have Brazil and the Netherlands face up and which ever of them we face in the second game to have been the winner of their game.

I'm enjoying the WC.
Important game for Australia today.

Love these girls!!!

The skill they have shown is right up there, mcallums free kicks would have to be better then the majority ever taken for an aussie nt.

I always supported the matildas and the w-league but never paid too much attention, i think this will change as the quality is fantastic.

Now ......just need to get out men to show the same skill and grace.....

We managed to get the Equatorial Guinea - Matildas game on the big flat screen at the local sports bar here. Great Scott those EG girls can hack a woman's legs.

Our girls looked good though I wish they'd ease off a bit with the short corners.

Yeah I am not a fan of them either, but they wanted to go near post for their goal efforts - plus EQ let them do them time and again.
