Though i would share this video about australian sprinter peter norman.
I know a few of you are fans of Cenk and The Young Turks so you may have already seen it.
Made me feel both proud and ashamed of this country.
I never knew his story, why is this guy not celebrated in australia already.

Great that you have posted it here Shin.
I had read about his story in the Guardian...

Re: Peter Norman
I honestly never knew the white guy on the podium was australian or even played a part in what went on.Great that you have posted it here Shin.

I have a feeling norman was not punished for supporting the process but for doing it during an official medal ceremony. I think possibly cenk made more out of that part ( though im only speculating ).
Regardless it was sad that in 2000 in the eyes of aussie officials he still had a case to answer for.
When cenk said that australia had its own apartheid i shook my head in disbelief but then thought about it and realised the similarities with south africa.

Re: Peter Norman
The decision not to send a sprint team to the 1972 Olympics despite Norman being a medal prospect is challenging to view in any other light.I think he was "punished" for supporting them, full stop.
But we will never know.
