Ashes
Everyone watching it?
I can't recall being more pumped and excited for a sporting fixture ever!
Can't wait for the second test. I'll be working there!
I don't really mind if we lose the Lord's test but win the ashes. Cos if we lose the Lord's test it means Australia have only won at Lord's twice as many times as England. Its our home ground!
Fairly even first day. Very happy with our bowling performance. Glad to see our three seamers got wickets.
We're desperate for a decent partnership out of Hughes and Smith today.

I am. Always enjoyed Test cricket. Loved the Golden era of the 90's - Warne, McGrath, Waugh bros etc.
However, we have a terrible team now!
Go Agar though - just took the lead. Highest score from a number 11 in a hundred years or something lol!!

Re: Ashes
We have a 14 run lead at tea! Bloody hell this is turning into an interesting match.
I am much more back into the cricket now that I was previously. I tired of us winning all the time and much preferred the days of Captain Grumpy and Swervin' Mervin when you never knew what was going to be dished up and every victory was treated as if we'd won the Ashes.
I think we are closer to those days now, and I'm loving it.
EDIT: Oops, lunch, sorry

Re: Ashes
Great innings from Agar. Good to watch too. Strange when a world record innings seems disappointing.

^^
His Ton was so close.
He'll get another chance.
But England seem to be in the driving seat as I write.
117th over: England 297-6 (Bell 77, Broad 37)
Drinks.
1:48 am Adelaide time.
6:20 pm Perchtoldsdorf time.

Re: Ashes
I used to be able to sit and happily watch a whole days cricket on the weekend completely enthralled.
I could have told you pretty much any player's battling and bowling average and from the previous 30 odd years. ( you never wanted to play a sports trivia game against me)
20/20 killed it for me.
I dont think i could even name more then a handful of Aussie players now, i didn't even know the ashes were on..

Ppl who slap the label of truth on the 1st thing they hear, do it out of ignorance, convenience or cant be bothered picking through a thin layer of falsehood to find the real truth, or possibly even another lie

Re: Ashes
So 311 can we do it? A good start from Rogers and Wato will help! I'm very happy Rogers is in the squad. He's already scored a 180 and a 200 this county season. He's also a top bloke as I've spent a fair bit of time around him working at Lord's. C'mon Buck!

Re: Ashes
I must confess I haven't been able to sit through an entire 20/20 match as yet. There isn't sufficient tactics & variation to maintain my attention. So true ^^^ 20/20 is absolute tripe. I don't even like watching one day'ers anymore.
But test matches still interest me. And can't say no to the Ashes.
