Urban Exploration
Just been looking into this for a uni assignment and the whole thing's actually really interesting.
Adelaide seems to have some decent locations to explore, in particular a tunnel called Eli's Tomb. I can't find its location listed anywhere and have had no response from a website I tried to register to join.
Was anyone here ever a member of the Cave Clan, or know where Eli's Tomb is?

Just a thought,
If you can find some recent photos preferably something taken with a smart phone or gps camera, check the properties on the pic and see if the longitude and latitude has been recorded.
Then enter them into google maps and you are set

Re: Urban Exploration
Aren't there some tunnels in the city as well? I heard there is one around light square, apparently there is one connecting the SA parliment to the train station (although it probably connects to the casino now!

Yeah, there's meant to be a network under the city but how much of that is urban myth I don't know. The North Tce tunnel sounds legit as a way to get polititicians out in case of emergency. Similarly, the tunnels under Victoria Sq (if they exist) must be to do with the courts and state admin centre/reserve bank.
I've been in some of the tunnels under the Treasury building (now the hotel) as I worked there just before the development started, but never heard if they actually led anywhere.
Found something online about the back of the kiosk in Rundle Park (with the pond and boats) being the start/end to a tunnel under the city, but again, it's all still to be confirmed by anyone.
Like your idea - cheers Stuckey - will see if I can find recent pics, but most seem from around 03-05 so don't like my chances.

Re: Urban Exploration
I remember looking into this back when I was in high school, very fascinating. Wish I got into it a bit more actually. I went into a few cool squats in Berlin when I was there. I don't know what it is but it's just damn cool going around abandoned areas.
I've heard of people talking about a tunnel near the Bolivar Caravan Park that heads to an old underground army barrack. Apparently it was built during one of the World Wars and still had some bed frames down there. When I looked into it years ago online I couldn't find anything but I have heard quite a handful of people claim it's there.

Re: Urban Exploration
Having lived in the hills I've seen a few of those tunnels for the trainline. Some of them a huge! Speaking of tunnels the missus and I went to Switzerland last year and took the train to Jungfrau one of the highest mountains in Europe. You can catch a train almost entirely to the top 4,100m for the last 20 mins the train goes thru the mountain in a tunnel. The tunnel was built in 1911 I think but just to think they could build a train tunnel in a mountain 4,000m in the air is just amazing definately worth the 100 euro it cost to go!

You can tell it's a bit b-grade but it was well done IMHO considering the budget was like $125k or something. Kept me amused on a Saturday morning anyway. How was the movie? Re: Urban Exploration
The Tunnel is pretty good. I thought the 4-corners impersonation was better than the actual horror movie part of it, though it has the District 9 problem of awkward transition from the 'mockumentary' parts to actual plot.
I started watching it on foxtel when back in Adelaide for xmas. I had not heard of it and was kind of hoping it would turn into something like Alternative 3 instead of the Blair Witch Project.

Eli's Tomb is around Walkerville somewhere, close to the Torrens. Went there once, stumbled on the place. Walls were covered with awesome graffiti.

I used to know members, doubt I could get in contact with any of them though as our lives took very divergent paths.
