sokkah tips

Postby bundibundi Thu May 19, 2011 5:12 am

I have a problem. I've never player football before I moved to brasil, now im playing regularly once a week and had a lightning start of a goal a game, but after a christmas break and a pair of new shoes (which are way too big for me which is a big problem) ive dried up. One of my big problems is I often get crosses drilled in at me that end up at my knee height. How am I supposed to put them in? I've been using my knee but i tend to have very little control over it and the ball can end up anywhere. I'm quite a tall lad so bending down to head it takes a lot of time. Any tips? I want to return from Brasil one day and retire at Adelaide united after an illustrious career... yeah.

Your overall talent and performance is defined by one thing: The goal celebration. Perfect it.

Also, hit it with the laces. Always. Even if it's head height.

If they are coming in at waist/hip height then you either need to be doing diving headers (if your game enough) or have you tried to get them to send them in a little higher so you can chest and volley them? Other wise your just going to have to go with whatever works at the time - also get boots that fit.

Fuck the diving header unless the coast is clear, if you're not getting paid to play it's not worth putting your noggin in the firing line of opposition boots/knees/etc... at hip/waist height I like the old side-foot volley, if the cross has some velocity on it you don't need to add too much power, get the aim right and the ball will do the work.. hit it with the top of the foot and you can get heaps of power but accuracy becomes more of a problem
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.
